  1. Crystal I also got accepted for the Fall! I already went and got my physical, and need to find a CPR class ASAP! Sorry to everyone who did not make it. Please don't give up hope!
  2. I'm sorry you guys got bad news, but hopefully you both get accepted elsewhere. What exactly did your letter say? Did it say there was no space, or that you did not meet the requirements? For anyone interested, I developed an excel spreadsheet that will tell you your "Qualifying Score" after entering your Core Sciences and English grades, as well as your GPA. Just to let you know where you stand in the process. No email for me yet. I'm stressing out!
  3. I'm a little upset with the SRJC's decision to not release the acceptance letters until late June/early July. That gives people only a month to prepare themselves for full-time school. Additionally, if people make arrangements for school, then don't get accepted, they could lose out on working. College of Marin has already finished the TEAS process and sent out the letters of acceptance... I don't really understand why it is taking this long for the SRJC. At the end of May, the administrative assistant told me they would likely be released mid-June. It is a very stressful situation.
  4. I just heard back from College of Marin, I am #82/273 applicants! This is before the TEAS test scores are reported. Apparently over 500 people applied, but only 273 made the cut-off. Since the SRJC's formula is higher at 80%, versus 73% at COM, it is likely many people didn't make the cut. My friend already discovered he didn't reach 80%, so I suppose if you haven't been rejected yet, you are already in the lottery. Good luck to you both!
  5. Thanks for the reply and advice! I decided to take the full-time job, and just decide what to do in the slim chance I get into nursing school. At least this way I can save money (silver lining). Good luck in your nursing career!
  6. Hello, I'm new to this board, and I need advice from previous nursing student applicants. I'm 24 years-old applied to nursing school this Spring, and discovered I am #82/239 applicants (pre-TEAS exam). There are 36 available slots in the program, with 5 alternates. Honestly, what do you think are my chances of being accepted to the program? The reason I ask is because I have a job opportunity at Kaiser Permanente Hospital for a full time position, at $25.00. While it isn't nursing money, I feel it is pretty good income for my age, plus full benefits, and the hospital is 5 minutes from my house. I was going to turn down the full-time position, and take a 16 hour a week position (no benefits), in the chance I got accepted. However, I have to decide this by May 1st. Back to the main question, do you think my chances of being accepted are slim? Would you take the full-time job? Thanks for the help! --Jbrhill
