Good luck! They didn't tell us (Fall 2010/Spring 2011) until the beginning of June. Try to be patient, I know it's hard to do. I started this Spring and I love the program so far. I really hope luck is on your side and your number is drawn. Also, if you're high on the alternate list, try to hold out hope. I was on the alternate list and found out in October that I got in.
I really hope they tell you guys before June. Waiting was definitely the hardest part.
Congratulations on getting in! Do you know how you were selected to be on the alternate list? Is it based on grades? Thanks so much, Natalie
It's lottery based. Basically, just luck of the draw. I hope you get a good number!
Great. Thank you!

I applied for the 2011 program at SRJC but I am trying not to think about it too much as it will still be months till we know anything.
Yes, I know. It seems like forever, but I know it's not! Good luck on your application.

I too applied to the SRJC 2011 nursing program. Like all of you, am waiting while trying not to dwell on it too much. I just ran into a friend who said they had a record number of applicants this year: around 500 (I think). Apparently there is only one person who goes through all the apps so we probably won't be hearing until June. Have any of you started studying for the TEAS yet? It's helping me feel like I'm doing something productive and so I don't feel so helpless.
Good luck to all of you (and me too)!
Hi Debk33,
I know. I felt sick when I heard about the number of apllicants... It is hard to not think about it, but there's nothing more we can do... I ordered the TEAS study guide from ATI and have studied a little. The material doesn't seem too bad. Just a heads up though, I have heard people say that there is a tiny section of the test on geology (rocks and stuff). They said it's not a big deal, but the study guide doesn't prep you for this. I don't know why geology is on the test, except maybe it is just to measure for general competence. Anyway good luck!
Hey all,
Can't believe the reported number of applicants this year! I already took the TEAS as I am applying to BS programs also. It was really not that bad, I would not stress too much about it. I used the study guide and paid for the online practice tests (really helpful). I got a 75% before I even started studying, which is enough for the JC. I only studied for a couple days just to remind myself of a few things and scored in the 90's on the actual test (99 in science). I remember reading something about the rock stuff (review on Amazon?) also but that may have been on an older version (?) cause it was not on my test. I have heard from a friend that got in at the JC that they did not hear that they got in till August! Fingers crossed.
Hi Chrystal 130,
Thanks for the info on the rock stuff. I did read it from an Amazon review, but I actually also had a friend who took the test 2 years ago and she said it had a little bit of geology. You are probably right though, that it's only on the older versions. I am glad that the TEAS wasn't that hard!
I hope that we hear before August...that would be torture!

Hello,
I also applied for the fall 2011 ADN program. I've been trying so hard not to think about when I will get an email from the ADN... but lately I've had my heart jump out of my chest when I see SRJC email me, then it turns out to be for the elections! BOO ! I haven't heard about how many people have applied this time around. In 2010 I heard close to 500 people applied? Is this wrong? I just assumed why would it change? But the hardest thing for me is that I'm planning my whole life around getting in or not and that's just tearing me up inside. I applied once before but my application had something missing and I didn't get in. *head-desk* I really feel like it is all luck now, if it was based on anything else I might have some control in the way I thought my chances could be.
Question: Do you think if someone filled out their application wrong that SRJC would send it back to you? I think with all the money budgeting that they couldn't afford to mail back each application package that had a error on it. But I mailed mine in on the day applications were open to turn in (oct 2) and now i'm becoming paranoid.... ack! Guess thats the nature of the game.
