Has anyone applied for El Centro/ Northlake for Fall 08 (Late Application)

Has anyone applied to El Cento/ Northlake for Fall 08 during the late filing period? If you have, have you gotten a response if you are in the nursing program yet? If so, when did you get your acceptance letter?

Also, how did you get notified, was it be email?

I believe they were filling 20 spots. If you don't mind me asking, what was your GPA?

I had a 4.0. I also had a 90 on my HESI. I actually got a call on my cell saying some spots had opened up over the weekend, whatever that meant. I just got back from ordering my uniforms and registration is today at 2. So, I hate to say it, but if you haven't been notified by now, there is an extremely slim chance you're going to make it this semester. But that's just what I've seen so far.

I spoke with Kanora on Monday 8/11. She said they filled the 25 open spots with all 4.0's from previous applications and late applications. They went back and pulled applicants who didn't get in previous classes and notified them of being accepted. She also said that those of us who turned in late applications for Fall will not have to reapply for Spring, they would hold onto our applications. If there was something wrong with your application you would be notified by email. The next notification - for Spring 09 acceptance goes out via snail mail on 10/15/08. So we should hear something by the end of October. It's going to be the death of me to wait that long. I'm trying to focus on other things in life and not worry about getting in or not.

The good thing is that those of us with less than a perfect 4.0 may have a better chance of getting in since they took 25 4.0's in the Fall class. Like someone said to me - "We're just ducks sitting on a pond" waiting for our letters to come in the mail now.

Hey Snowflake, was just wondering if el centro sent you a notification tht says you are still bieng considered for spring 09!! Are we to just assume tht we are still in the running?? Or is there some email or something?:confused::confused:

No...there were no notifications sent out. We are to assume that we are still in the running. Notifications will be sent out in October for Spring 09.

I think that is ridiculous but hopefully they did not loose them or something!!
