Hi, everyone! I just found out a few days ago that I was accepted into Harford's nursing program! First day is May 16th! Just wanted to connect with any others who are attending Harford this summer or fall. I will be in the evening/weekend program, clinicals on Saturdays. :)
Hi, I just completed the summer session for Fundamentals for the weekend/evening classes. For Fundamentals, lecture is on Tuesdays and Thursdays (7-9:30 pm). Lab is once a week either on Tuesday or Thursday. You will register for one or the other. Lab is 4-6pm. Clinicals are on Saturday, usually 7am-5pm. As far as later semesters, I am still learning but I believe the classes are still Tuesdays and Thursdays. This fall semester, I don't have lab, just lecture hours. Clinical are on Saturdays and occasional Sundays. I hope this helps!
Welcome, Djsage13!
24 points is excellent, with 25 points being the max! I would say that you should have no trouble getting in...I know the Teas is being required now so I don't know how that works with being accepted. I am in my third semester as a WEA student and I love it! The support is wonderful, and our class is like a big family. If you get accepted, let me know. I wish you the best!

Thank you. I have all As in my sciences. I actually only have 2 Bs and that's in English and a Humanities. I have a 3.83 GPA and a previous bachelors degree so I am hoping that all weighs in my favor. So how far along are you? Are you in the Evening or day program? What's your schedule like?
I am in my third semester. I am in the Weekend/evening class....the weekend evening class is called WEA. I have classes every Tuesday and Thursday evening, and clinicals on the weekend. Currently, I am taking maternal/peds and Med-surg II. WEA students begin Fundamentals with Renee Franquiz. She is a excellent teacher! You will learn alot from her. The program is very intense...there is rarely a day, that I am not doing work for studies. So, if you get accepted, strap your roller skates on! If you do work, Harford suggests that you work a minimum of hours, because classes are like a full-time job. When I began Fundamentals, many people in my class who worked full-time, cut back their hours because they could not work and keep up their studies.
Lol! You sound like me when I was applying into nursing school. :) The exams are difficult, I cannot sugar coat it. They are difficult because, we are learning to apply the knowledge we have learned. There might be 2 good answers, but what is the best or correct answer. There is remediation help for those who struggle with these type of tests. The first exam is always the hardest because of the learning curve. Most of us got C's on our first Fundamentals exam. There was one A in the class for that exam. You must get a 75 to pass an exam. You must get a 75 to pass Fundamentals. This sounds easy until you realize what type of tests you are taking and all of the other assignments and skills you have to perform. Your first clinicals will be in Assisted living and then in Longterm care for most of the first semester. I believe the last 2 or 3 weeks of the semester are at a hospital. Either Upper Chesapeake, or Harford Memorial. Classes first semester begin around 4 pm-6:15pm (I think) for lab and then 7-9/10 pm for lecture. Clinicals are on Saturdays initially. Clinicals begin at 6:50 am and they are 10 hours long. I hope this helps!

Amanda, are you going to be at this Thursday's orientation or the 16th orientation? How are classes this semester? Which class and instructor is your favorite?
