:balloons: Happy Nurses Week
As far as I know, we are getting nothing special for nurses day......although I did see a few coupons lying around for some cleaning company and some of those little plastic refrigerator calendar magnets.
The night shift nurses are getting together tonight though and having a carry in dinner. That will be nice....Mexican theme to celebrate nurses week and Cinco DeMayo....

We get free lunch in the cafeteria, usually some sort of nursing pin. Do other facilities have a popularity contest- "nurse of the year"- that sort of thing?(very poor for morale). The CNA's are ignored entirely, although no one works harder than them. Last year administrstion went around with a dessert cart and everyone helped themselves, but when the aids selected theirs, they were told to "put the dessert back, it's only for nurses." It was very uncomfortable and humiliating for those poor girls. However, we nurses all put our desserts back, too. How cruel to hurt feelings over a stupid piece of cake!
THAT is the most blatantly disrespectful thing I have heard any form of management do in a VERY LONG TIME. DISGUSTING! I would have to consider moving on from an institution that so obviously disrespects such valuable team members as AIDES ARE! But NOT before I wrote a SCATHING letter to administration on the way out!:angryfire

HAPPY NURSES WEEK! I don't really get or want anything, from the hospital I work for, they will be having things all week However: I am employed by the hospital to work in the schools, School nurse. This is also teachers week, so they are calling it "Staff Appriation Week" sorry for the misspelling! Anyway, we had a breakfast at my one school on Monday. Today we are having a special lunch at this school, which I am included with the staff. I do think the hospital should still give a card at least! Oh well
Last night, I Noticed a "HAPPY LAB PROFESSIONALS' WEEK" poster at the hosptal. Is it Lab Professionals' week too???! NO WHERE I COULD SEE was any mention of Nurses' Week , however. Interesting observation.
