It is finally here, what a week! What ails your sick kiddos? I am starting to see higher temps and of course, the typical N & V.

Have a wonderful weekend :sarcastic:

Specializes in School nursing.

I swear every teenage girl in my school is on her period this week. So many feminine supplies and acetaminophen/ibuprofen for cramps.

And yes, cold symptoms. Drink more water kiddos. I will not send you home for a runny nose. Many stomachaches - my bathroom was a revolving door poop zone this week.

Also, the other nurse at the my other campus was out yesterday. I got called there 3 times. I seriously got back to my school to be greeted by the office manager to tell "I'm so sorry, but you have to go back..."

To a situation where the counselor should have been called. :banghead:

I also have three days next week. Ugh.:arghh:

Specializes in School Nurse.

So this one tops the "what was the teacher thinking". Sends student to the clinic because his foot fell asleep...really???

What the serious F...

Everyone is tired. Too tired for common sense, apparently.

Specializes in Pedi.

Vomiting. Strep. Whining. 3 more days next week :arghh:

Specializes in ED, School Nurse.

Jen-Eliz- my school's female population is on the same schedule as yours. It has been like the Crimson Tide up in here!!!

Yesterday my sociopathic (seriously- this kid will be in jail one day, mark my words) diabetic student stole granola bars from a teachers desk. Turns out he's been stealing candy canes from the Christmas tree at home and shoving them down his pants so mom won't catch him. Why mom decided to put candy canes on a tree with this kid in the house is a whole other thread. I am pretty sure he OD'd on insulin the other day, maybe trying to cover for the candy canes at school? He dropped from 256 to 66 in 80 minutes, which is unusual for this kid. I am now keeping his insulin in my office. This kids is 17 and will NOT take any responsibility for his actions. He just lost all behavioral privileges he earned (like being able to walk to class by himself with out an ed tech shadowing his every move).

I've had lots of kids call mom/dad to come get them. Then they come to the nurse's office and say I'm sick I need to go home. And I say you don't meet criteria for dismissal. And they say, you just have to call my mom, she will come get me. And then the secretary calls and says "Suzy's mom is here" and I say "Great! But that's not a nurse dismissal. Sorry 'bout your luck."

Only 2 more days....only 2 more days.....only 2 more days.....

Specializes in endcrinology, peds.

Oh no Farawyn!!!! I had that last week :arghh:
