Yes, Happy ER week to one and all! Speaking of tacky gifts...one year our NM gave us all blue ribbons that said "you're number one" or something like that and she had all of us line up as she pinned them on each of us (I know, roll eyes). She reached inside our scrub top and pinned them to our bra strap so they would stay pinned. One female nurse was not wearing a bra. She did not NEED one. She was a marathon runner, and had no breasts. No one knew she was not wearing a bra, nor did anyone care. But the NM lost her mind! She actually sent this nurse HOME to put on a bra. We all felt the love!
Happy ER nurses week:yeah:
I didn't know there was one either. Happy ER nursing week to all ER nurses out there! You guys definitely deserve it. You deal with some of the most difficult patients, and nobody is ever happy with you because they have to wait, and there are not many answers yet for families lol. "You mean I have to wait 2 hours before I even see a doc? My child is sick!" (lol, probably has a runny nose while the other patient next door came in already dead). This is not a direct quote as I'm not even an ER nurse lol, nor would I even dare to post anything patient-related with hippa and all now, but I do remember my ER rotation in nursing school. People are just so entitled now, not everyone obviously, thankfully lol. Good thing many people are reasonable.
Bwahahaha!! Nursemae, after recent tail-kickings with sick-sick folks we've had at our happy little MTF, I will be overjoyed to see a shift full of ear infections and strep throat!!
Hah, I hear ya. We've had a run of 'real ER' patient lately...strange! Would love to have just a little more of a mix, but hey, still can't complain too much since it means not too many of our constituents are having a Very Bad Day.

Yes, it's that time of year again ... time for awful gifts, or none at all! Haha. Seriously, thanks for all you do, my fellow ED nurses ... you rock!!
