External and internal stresses can be dufficult to cope with. Get some professional help and look for a job with a better environment. Take care.

All jobs have unhappy circumstances. Working for a living is hard. I have worked with emotional problems, while being the victim of lateral violence.

I did not quit, until I had another job. Take care of yourself .. first. That means, having money coming in, while you search for a better place and are seeking counsel.

Good luck to you. Hopefully you made the best choice for your physical and emotional well-being.

Just a side note...it is never a good idea to depend on a job to bestow happiness upon you. Most jobs out there are permeated with unhappy circumstances.

Again, good luck to you.

I'm usually with you on your opinions. I also love your no nonsense replies in which I've read many times that have been the best responses. However, in this case, we don't know the level of emotional stress, her level of coping ability nor her financial situation. I, for example, before my doctor and I realized I have severe PMDD, used to make sudden, life changing decisions and feel suicidal. I attempted suicide once by taking 120 mg of xanax. Anyway, Id have these very extreme debilitating emotions and then bam! Sure enough, Id get my period within a few days and feel completely back to "normal."

With medication and counseling, I now handle things, even the worst of situations, much better.

You are right. She needs to take care of herself first. And quitting when she did could have been the best thing for her at the time. She didn't say whether or not she gave ample notice. It isn't for us to judge her decision to quit, but encourage some professional help.
