I had my interview last week but I was given a 221g letter stating that my documents will still be reviewed by them and will just receive a letter regarding the result. I have given them all docs that the consul needed. For me, I answered the consul's questions quite well. Actually there were two of them so I think one is some sort of a trainee. I was not asked for any additional docs either. The consul didnt even inform me that my case has to be reviewed. By the end of the interview, she just asked me to take my seat and wait for my number to be called.
At releasing ( when I thought everything was ok) the lady told me about the 221g letter and gave me the pink slip. she said that I will just pay for the courier service just in case the consul decides to send the visa without a second interview.
To all who have undergone this same frustrating experience, please kindly tell me how long it took you to be called for interview or got your visas.
Thank you
to ABY horay im so glad u already receive ur visa!thanks GOD..thank you for the info im so happy for you and your family...the long wait is over.godbless to you.to all of you who has been patiently feeding us with encouragement and prayers thank you.goodluck to all those who already receive their visa.
Hi Abi17...
I was just wondering since you mentioned that you got married after submission of your DS230. I assume that you papers/documents like passport, visascreen, etc are in your maiden name? or did you already have it changed to your married name(since you said the embassy asked for an NBI clearance in your married name). I also got married recently but before submission of my DS230 so I was already able to include my husband in my DS230. However, I am still using my maiden name(I did not use my husband's surname) in all my documents. Only our marriage contract links the two of us. My lawyer said this is ok.
I was just wondering if I will also be asked for an NBI clearance which is in my Married name during the interview eventhough all my documents are in my maiden name?
to paraw: I got married after the submission of DS-230 at NVC. I informed the embassy through fax that I recently got married, so my husband came with me during the interview with his DS-230.My husband paid and submitted the DS-230 at the time of my interview, and we received our visas(including my husband's visa) on Aug.29...Just keep on following up with the embassy.
For those who are still waiting, just keep on communicating with the embassy. What I did was I wrote a letter to the Consul general and immigrant visa chief almost every week, through fax, mail and email.I think that would be helpful...i know how it feels to wait, i will still include all of u in my prayers..:wink2:
to agp ph, your lawyer is right, its ok to use your maiden name as what is indicated in ur visascreen, prc license, etc.. at the time of ur interview, they will still ask you to submit NBI clearance of ur married name.. i think it would be better to get a new NBI clearance to prevent delay in processing of ur visa, like what happened to me... do u have ur interview date?
Good day to all!
I had my interview last July 12,2006, it was so dreadful because it was also the birthday of my dearest one who have supported me all the way.But the result was I have to submit a notarized letter stating the pre and post NCLEX salary. And last July 28,2006 my immigration atty have sent the documents directly to the US embassy. It took how many times to call the embassy just to know if they have received the documents, and thankfully they have it. But then it has been a month now since they had my document still I dont have my visa yet. Honestly guys, it is only now I found my strength to write, but I have to do this with all my tears pouring out as if I could not anymore breathe. It is so painful for my part because I have been with alot of agencies in the past and this is the only agency who have help me reach this part, and that is having the interview. But then it was like a really bad wind that have swept me away that 12th of JULY considering it was also a TYPHOON in Manila.Anyway, I was happy for those whp have receive already their visa, as for me it seems I have to be groping in the dark...How I wish the people from the embassy could read our story. The pain we have to endure of being delayed as well as the pain of raising funds for some of us to go to Manila, as for my case I have to spent for it.I really can not stop crying everynight or maybe in some days the ordeal I had...till then, I want to thank this forum as well as please continue praying for us who does not have our visas yet...thank you:(
Bake pie i know how you feel..I have been waiting for about 2 mos and 3 days to be exact. we have the same situation i was alos asked for a contract with notarized and pre and post nclex salary.Dont lose hope.Honestly i have been crying also whenever my serotonin is so low..But do you know that having faith in GOD is the best antideppressant ive evr taken.some of those who receive their visa already went through all these drama in life.doNT WORRY..just enjoy the time while waiting for your visa.spend time with your love ones and eat all the filipino delicacies.hehe.u know what just keep us posted.if u have lots of mindboggling "what ifs" dont entertain the devil,DISCOURAGEMENT is their best tool.GODBLESS YOU.and welcome to this forum.
