I had my interview last week but I was given a 221g letter stating that my documents will still be reviewed by them and will just receive a letter regarding the result. I have given them all docs that the consul needed. For me, I answered the consul's questions quite well. Actually there were two of them so I think one is some sort of a trainee. I was not asked for any additional docs either. The consul didnt even inform me that my case has to be reviewed. By the end of the interview, she just asked me to take my seat and wait for my number to be called.
At releasing ( when I thought everything was ok) the lady told me about the 221g letter and gave me the pink slip. she said that I will just pay for the courier service just in case the consul decides to send the visa without a second interview.
To all who have undergone this same frustrating experience, please kindly tell me how long it took you to be called for interview or got your visas.
Thank you
thanks margos for the prayers. and of course to everyone who includes us in their prayers.
i called up the embassy yesterday. the operator said to wait for 1 month and check again. does this mean that we have to wait for more than a month??????? my goodness!!!!!
anyway, i believe it's worht the wait. let's wait, and wait, and wait...........
BTW tagamargos , would you mind if you share your experience with the embassy too? tnx again.
im on my fourth week of waiting my visa.. up to now it is still under review.. i dont know what's happening, and its really depressing.. i have heard experiences from other people with lacking documents (job offer letter) and for administrative review who are on their third month of waiting..does it mean that i have to wait that long? for those who are still waiting God bless all.
another thing you may want to look at is the time difference from the day of your consular interview and when you actually submitted the documents. apparently this matters a lot on the release of your visa.
in one of my earlir posts, i mentioned someone i know who already received his updated contract right after the interview. he submitted the lacking document a few days after and now got his visa after around 2+ weeks wait.
this other nurse meanwhile from my same hospital was able to submit her missing document (also an updated contract) more than a month after her consular interview. it's now almost a month for her with still no visa.
again cases do vary and the actual document missing may also be a factor. but this is just a possible scenario which may or may not apply in your respective cases. anyways, goodluck and i hope you'll get your visas soon.
ive entered my 4th week of agony... when will the us embassy release our visas? i have submitted my lacking pre- and post rn rate certification mid-july and no visa yet... i have already resigned from my job so im basically feeding off my parents' income... i have siblings still in school who im supposed to be helping with financially...
i have a friend who i met in a review center who was asked to submit a pre-/post rn rate rate certification also.. its been more than two months since she submitted the docs and still no visa... her agnecy's lawyer in the us tried to track down the reason for the delay and was told to wait as the visa was still being processed...
