I had my interview last week but I was given a 221g letter stating that my documents will still be reviewed by them and will just receive a letter regarding the result. I have given them all docs that the consul needed. For me, I answered the consul's questions quite well. Actually there were two of them so I think one is some sort of a trainee. I was not asked for any additional docs either. The consul didnt even inform me that my case has to be reviewed. By the end of the interview, she just asked me to take my seat and wait for my number to be called.
At releasing ( when I thought everything was ok) the lady told me about the 221g letter and gave me the pink slip. she said that I will just pay for the courier service just in case the consul decides to send the visa without a second interview.
To all who have undergone this same frustrating experience, please kindly tell me how long it took you to be called for interview or got your visas.
Thank you
hello nutshell. I have the same experience. I was interviewed last June 1 and submitted the required documents (authenticated job offer) last July 11, 2006. I tried calling the Embassy hotline but they could not give a definite reason for the delay. I am also having the same feeling of anxiety especially that my agency in US is announcing that another retrogression is coming by October 2006. I have a couple of friends who waited for 1 month. Another friend waited for 3 months. I hope, for whatever reason they may have for holding our visa, it'll soon be released before the projected retrogression.
Let's just keep our faith intact. Prayers can move mountains.

hi dral! what a coincidence, i also submitted my job offer last july 11 at exactly 1pm at window 20. i had my interview with the consul last may 26. i've been calling the embassy too for a couple of times already & also checking with delbros only to find out it's still being evaluated. you're right, we can't help but feel a bit anxious why our visas are not yet delivered to us. a big question of WHY? hope it won't take more than a month of waiting. we don't want to be affected by the impending retrogression. honestly, i don't want to entertain that idea, but it's really scaring me...glad to know that i'm not alone in this predicament. abi17, you & me have exactly the same situation. abi17 was interviewed last june 26.....let's just continue praying hard that all our fears may soon end with our visas at our doorstep...God bless.
i am on my 3rd week of agony here... i was interviewed last month and was asked to submit a certification and its been 3weeks since... the expensive call to the embassy tells me the same things as weeks past... that the docs have been reviewed already and that i have to wait for further action... what's happening??

welcome to the club, chukchak! now, there are 4 of us in this thread with same situation: abi17, dral, you & me...i was interviewed last may 26, submitted my lacking document of job offer last july 11, up to now no visa yet..it's my 14th day of waiting......yes, we are all asking "what's happening?"...where are those visas? when are they coming?.... aside from the sleepless nights of anxiety, the cost per call to the embassy is an added burden, what you get is only a general reply of "for further action, for evaluation, call again, just wait.... etc..etc"...... sometimes i have these recurring dreams that delbros delivery is at the doorstep calling out my name & presenting my visa but suddenly waking up to reality...reality of still waiting in vain......it's really tormenting...how come others got their visas in a matter of 5 days or even less???....by the way, what certification was asked of you to submit?....... hope we'll surpass this trying part of our quest to us....let's hang on there...god bless...
i have been having butterflies in my stomach for about 1 month now..I was interviewed last june 19 and was asked to submit a copy of my birth certificate from the local service registry.my birth certificate from NSo was not that clear thats why they ask for another copy.I was also ask to submit another contract stating my pre and post nclex salary with letterhead..I was direct hired from a facility in california and i have not taken my nclex exam,i only took the cgfns and ielts.i submittted the lacking documents last june 28 and i have a friend of mine who submitted the same lacking docs.she has not yet taken the nclex and was bound to NY. she came from a very popular agency in Ny.she receive her visa just last week(wednesday) and im worried coz i havent receive mine.we submitted the same docs in the same window and she was just ahead of me in the same line...does this mean that we had the same consul who evaluated our docs>how come she already receive her visa a week ago?i also had a friend who had her interview last july 10 she was asked by the consul to take the nclex exam first b4 she will be given her visa.I found out that it was in her contract taht she must have a license first before she can work there.i havent taken the nclex and i was worried because there are rumors that they wont issue the visa unless you passed the nclex exam.pls include me in your prayers,,,,godbless to everyone and i wanna thak the people who shared their experiences coz it really helps a lot knowing that im not alone in this kind of situation, thanks

hi shyr.n.......now there's five of us: abi17, dral, chukchak, me & u....we're in the same boat...you're right, all those feelings of butterflies in the stomache, all those sleepless nights of staring at the ceiling, thinking of whatever, what if my visa is.. or what if my agency is... a lot of what if's....plus the news u get from friends who have gotten their visas already........
well, as for me, shr.n., i don't think you have a problem without taking the nclex yet at the time you were interviewed by the consul. as long as the job offer issued by your employer doesn't state or oblige the nurse to have us license before entering us, you need not worry. i haven't taken my nclex too, but the consul was aware that i'll be taking it immediately upon arrival in nj. my job offer had a pre & post nclex rates, meaning to say the employer is willing to sponsor the nurse with or without the nclex.
i guess we just have to bear with the processing time of the embassy as far as releasing of visa is concerned. maybe, it's the disadvantage to those who have lacking documents at the time of the consular interview, like us...
let's continue praying & be optimist that nothing so serious on the delay of our visa...let's keep in touch of any developments....god bless...

all those feelings you mentioned, the "what ifs" i also have those...plus..everytime my cellphone gives out a message alert tone, id literally jump..wondering if its from delbros! to think i always track my visa(hoping) at their website twice a day..i think im going nuts!!!
hi jenic501,
thanks for the reply.
i am contemplating for the possible reasons of the delay. 1. could it be inconsistencies in the data we've provided in our DS-230/other forms? 2.could the documents we've submitted to the embassy were verified by them again? or 3. was the delay a handiwork of some envious persons in the embassy? i fear the reason number 3 most. why? because, if true, this person would try to find hundreds of ways to procrastinate if not stop us from having good lives.
whatever the reason i just find it unfair and unjust for anybody waiting in vain. they should tell us the reason or give us some idea WHY????? i mean there should be a reason WHY?
at times, i'm thinking of writing the consul general about our problems. something has to be done about this problem. we have the right to know what's being done to our case.
HUH... much has been said by now... i lay my case to prayers...
well, as for me, shR.N., i don't think you have a problem without taking the nclex yet at the time you were interviewed by the consul. as long as the job offer issued by your employer doesn't state or oblige the nurse to have US license before entering US, you need not worry. i haven't taken my NCLEX too, but the consul was aware that i'll be taking it immediately upon arrival in NJ. my job offer had a pre & post NCLEX rates, meaning to say the employer is willing to sponsor the nurse with or without the NCLEX.
not having taken the nclex yet is definitely not the problem. and so far, all posts from those who had first hand experience of the delays have not mentioned that as a reason. some are even nclex passers already. while it's sad that there are cases when agencies abuse pre-nclex nurses (eg poor living conditions, extremely low rates, etc), the fact remains though that as far as this thread topic is concerned, it is not an issue with the Manila consular interviews.
back to topic, the indefinite wait can really be depressing. i even know someone who had their interview on the same day as i did. the job offer was delayed and like most here, was asked to submit it once it's available. Lo and behold, the job offer came once she got home. If it just came a few hours earlier, the visas couldv'e been with them already. now, they are like you guys still patiently waiting.
apparently, the embassy people prioritizes the printing of the visas for those with complete/error-free documents right after the interview. and we all know the sheer volume of visas they print in Manila on a daily basis (hey we're not the 2nd largest immigrant group in the US for nothing ) this is because they have a "commitment" (as reflected in their website) to release these visas within a specific number of days. but since this "commitment" is quite vague for those who need to submit added documents, they seem to take their time in these cases, thus the extended wait.
some of the posts here are from relatively new members. i suggest that you read the old posts from the NC-CP-GC tracker thread. you'll find a number of posts there with for those who recieved their visas after late submission of documents. again, the cases vary. some get it in a matter of weeks. but yes, others take months. however, i have yet to read a post about never getting their visas at all or were denied. coz if it's the latter, you will be told right there and then. so hope springs eternal.
at any rate, if you've done your best, there's nothing much you can do but wait and follow-up from time to time. no need to do it daily coz it can be very costly. every other week would do. but again, the timeline as far as the embassy is concerned varies greatly. just like the actual interview date. the average before is 3-4 months wait time. but if you read the nvc tracker posts again, the july batch was unusually very fast and scheduled in less than 2... i was one of those pleasantly surprised with this.
anyways, i continue to believe that if everything in your documents are truly in order, you will get that "delbros knock" anytime soon. God bless you all real good

reason # 3 seem a bit radical. what made you think of it as a possibility? did you see anything suspicious during your interview?
while this is not entirely impossible, i still want to give the embassy people the benefit of the doubt. while i may have misgivings on some inefficiency i've experienced myself, it never came to the point of entertaining the thought of a deliberate attempt on their end to "sabotage" the process.
give it time. again, if everything's in order now, the visa will be with you soon. but if it extends to an "unreasonable" wait already (say 3-4months?), then maybe you could consider writing directly to the consul general.
goodluck and keep us posted.

hi daning! thanks so much for giving some thoughts to ponder on. you're right, for the time being, let's get to view the brighter side of the scenario. maybe it's really beyond the control of the people processing the release of the enormous, voluminous visa applications... time is gold, but patience is a virtue...i guess it would help ease the feeling of anxiously waiting for the coming of visa, if we make ourselves busy at the moment........ like concentrating on nclex review, seeing friends & relatives, spending quality time with family, relaxing like watching movies, malling & most of all going to church & sincerley praying for our desired intentions...in these ways, we don't get emotionally & mentally stressed out too much...to abi17, dral, chukchak, bax tan, nutshell, shyr.n....let's hang on there, guys!.. be optimist...fate will not lead us to this progress if it's not meant for us...stay strong & have faith...god sees & hears us all the time...

hmm... that seems odd. maybe it would be best for you to review again all documents you previously submitted. Are you also sure that there are no discrepancies at all in the info you've given? just be patient in calling the embassy hotline for follow-up though i know it's quite costly.
I hope everything will be ok soon. keep us posted. goodluck and take care.
