I had my interview last week but I was given a 221g letter stating that my documents will still be reviewed by them and will just receive a letter regarding the result. I have given them all docs that the consul needed. For me, I answered the consul's questions quite well. Actually there were two of them so I think one is some sort of a trainee. I was not asked for any additional docs either. The consul didnt even inform me that my case has to be reviewed. By the end of the interview, she just asked me to take my seat and wait for my number to be called.
At releasing ( when I thought everything was ok) the lady told me about the 221g letter and gave me the pink slip. she said that I will just pay for the courier service just in case the consul decides to send the visa without a second interview.
To all who have undergone this same frustrating experience, please kindly tell me how long it took you to be called for interview or got your visas.
Thank you
Thank you for the reply suzane.I hav my visa screen for cgfns and passed my nclex.I dont think my agency got any problem 'cause some of the applicant from the same agency interviewed on the same day as mine got their visa.Is it possible that the Ds230 of my dependents submitted and paid on the day of interview cause the delay?
hi nutshell. i have a friend with similar experience as yours. yes, her visa was delayed coz her dependents' ds230 & visa fee were paid at later date. they got their visas 2 weeks after coz the embassy has to review her dependent's documents & they were ask to come back for a re-appearance. but their patience paid off. they got their visas 2 weeks after the re-appearance & they're are scheduled to leave for US on july 30. so dont fret, your visa will soon be knocking at your doorstep. Good luck & God bless.
Hi jenic501! So it seems like we have the same case, and we also submitted our lacking documents almost on the same day. I have some friends who also submitted job offer letter with pre and post rn salary rate last july 10, still they dont have their visa. let's just keep on praying that our visa will arrive soon. keep us posted if u get yours. God bless us all!

certainly, abi. i will keep u informed once visa is delivered or of any updates i get fom embassy when i make my follow up within this week. we're almost there. one final step. let's hold on to our faith. God bless. by the way, what state is your destination, if i may ask?
reading the cases above, i think it's a matter of lacking documents or delayed payments at the time of the interview. if you read simillar posts in the nvc tracker thread, that would indeed cause delays. but it is not in anyway related to taking the nclex in the states. a contract that clearly stipulates a pre and post-nclex rates suffices. i have yet to read a post in this forum or know an actual experience where the consulate in us embassy manila denies the visa coz the applicant has yet to take the nclex.
all official info (eg us embassy and nvc websites/documents) clearly asks only for the visa screen and updated job offer aside from the usual immigration related papers. and as long as what's required in the issuance of the visa screen is passing either nclex or cgfns test, then we ought to be accurate on this info.
anyways, god bless to those still waiting for your visas. you're in our prayers and in his time, it will come. all shall be well. keep us posted.
There are several nurses who had visa issuance put on hold because their contracts are thru one of two agencies in NY, and I will not post the names of them here. I am sure that most of you are aware of the two names.
The issue has been that the agency never even applied to the BON for licensure for the nurse, so how can they be taking the exam as soon as they arrive? The Embassy is aware of this, and are trying to protect the nurse. It is impossible to live in NYC on $7 per hour, but many were not even getting that.
They are verifying with NY that the nurse will be permitted to write the exam soon in those cases, so that they are taken advantage of further.

thanks, daning for being with us in this situation. to support what you've said, several applicants who belong to the same agency as mine who left 6 months ago, others 2 months ago, and another 5 nurses just last week have received their visas without presenting proof of passing the nclex. all of us during the interview with the consul just presented our cgfns cert. & visa screen. also, the job offer issued by our employer didn't state that the nurse should be nclex passer. early on, we were all asked to accomplished the application forms for the bon new jersey. my co-applicants who are already in nj were able to sit for nclex within 2-3 weeks upon their arrival. in our case, i'm quite confident that nclex is not the cause of delay. if it is, the consul should had already questioned it when i was interviewed. i'm praying hard & keeping my faith that my visa will soon be released. thanks again, daning. will share any developments i get. god bless.

thanks so much suzanne for your concern to all filipino nurses especially to those who were taken advantage of in New York. it is really heart breaking to note that these are really happening. yes, i know of this one of agencies in NY you are referring to. it came out in the news and i have friends & even relative who were affected by this misfortune. actually, i was supposed to apply to this agency which has a local office here in manila. my friends invited me to join them coz accordingly, this agency can make the nurse leave the country in less than a year. also, this agency doesn't require the nurse of any hospital experience or training. they even accept newly graduated nurses. what i didn't want with this agency is that their being linient might put the welfare of the nurse & the patients as well at risk. there are 10 nurses whom i've worked with here in a hospital, their application were held even at the USCIS upon verification that they belong to this agency in NY. they were informed that they will be allowed to refile after a year. how unlucky!

Thanks jenic 501 for sharing your friend's experience,In my case my dependent were interviewed and their visa were paid in the same day of my interview.I called up the embassy again(exactly 2 weeks from the interview) and it is still under process,i was advised to call-up again after 2 weeks.
Hi! Its me again...reading the above posts, I could see that most cases are either due to lack of dox or fees paid at the embassy but mine is different. I'd like to know also if there are people who have the same case as mine wherein consul did not ask for any additional documents (and no fees paid for dependents at the time of interview) BUT were asked to wait for further review.
Please kindly post also.
thanks

Thank you for verifying again what I have been saying.

Look at what I posted, I was speaking of NY and stated so. There have been issues with several agencies not following thru on what they promised and it was six months or so before the nurse was able to even sit for the NCLEX exam, and since the agency never submitted to NY BON, the nurse was unable to get a limited permit, as well.
The Embassy is trying to look out for the nurse, believe it or not. There are some extremely unscrupulous agencies out there, and I keep getting horror stories from them on a daily basis.
If you are one of the lucky ones, then great. But do not say it is like that all over, it most definitely is not. Or there would not be investigations going on right now by the Filipinoc Consulate and the Attorney General.
There are those that have been forced to share a single room apt with 9 others, one kitchen and one bathroom, or 8 in a ofur bedroom apt with only 1 1/2 baths. That is how illegal immigrants are treated, not those on a green card.

hi abi. we have the same problem right now. i was interviewed together with my husband by the consul last may 26. the interview only lasted for 2 minutes i guess. all of the questions were more of information supplied in the ds230. he just asked further what state is our destination & when i will be taking the nclex. i said we're heading to NJ & i'll be taking the nclex upon arrival as pre-aaranged by my agency. the consul was very kind & was smiling all the time. he made us comfortable during the interview. we were even congratulated and were wished good luck to our US quest. since i don't have my job offer yet at that time, he just said once i get hold of it, i should submit it immediately to the embassy so the visa can be processed for release. after that, we paid the for courier and was given instructions on how to submit the lacking document. my job offer was only sent by my agency recently & i submitted it to the embassy particlarly on window 20 lasy july 11. it has been 2 weeks now & no visa yet delivered. me & my husband are getting a bit anxious already. i checked with delbros' website & traced for the status of our case. accordingly, it's still with embassy, for shipment processing. meaning to say, to be forwarded yet to delbros. i was not satisfied, i called up US embassy customer service hotline for immigrant visa applicants which costs Php55/minute. the operator was courteous enough to attend to my concerns, & upon checking on the records, she said, still for evaluation. well, it was all she can tell. but it was confirmed that they have received the lacking document. she just advised me to call up again, coz it normally take 2 weeks after submitting the lacking document that a status can be determined. i get envious to those who got their visas in a matter of 1 week or less. hope we'll have ours very soon. i'm planning to call up the embassy this coming thursday or friday should we not receive the visa within this week. my employer wants me to be in NJ by mid august but how can that be if the visa is not yet with us. my agency had to move our bookings to last week of august. i'm praying hard there's no serious problem at all that prevents the release of the visa. hope we can keep in touch & share any development. good luck to you, abi & God bless...
