This is ancient history, but I digress. When I was in nursing school, I was still working in an office job. Much to the bewilderment of the poor office staff who were typing my reports, without thinking I began to insert medical jargon and symbols into my handwritten documents. "What is this S with a line over it?"

Does anyone else feel his or her heart drop when a thread started by Brian appears?

Sorry, as y'all were...

As a Rehab Nurse Tech... opening doors for everyone. Helping strangers get items off shelves in the store. Always stopping to watch elderly people get in and out of their vehicles (or do anything, really) waiting to see if they might need assistance. This drives my impatient son and hubby crazy. Lol Plating food properly and thinking about the clock when I place food on the table, making sure everything is within reach. Lol And, of course, talking about anything and everything nasty at the dinner table. Nothing grosses me out anymore, well, except my husband's BM's. Dear lord they're worse than anything I came in contact with at the hospital. HAHAHAHA

Oh yes, the hospital corners!

Label and date anything I open at home

I work on a Mother Baby Unit. It is a locked unit for infant security. Any employee who enters or leaves the unit is required to stop and make sure doors shut behind them before moving on. I stopped at Target on my way home from work once and caught myself watching the sliding doors close as I walked in.

Learning what can be eaten in interrupted bites. No nachoes or tacos..

Signing my name with RN after it.

Handwashing BEFORE using the bathroom and again after

Medical Jargon in my notes to my other half and family

Signing LPN on everything

Constantly cleaning surfaces

Assessing any injuries to my other half or myself for signs of infection

Medication is put into the cap before I give it to myself

Putting date on everything once I open it

Constantly looking for pens and keys when I am out of scrubs

Eating lunch in about 30 seconds so I can use the other 30 seconds to use the restroom.

I always knock on my own bathroom door before entering.

Thanks for resurrecting this one. It's a great read!
