H1b Visa for nurses under FY 2010

Published

I have applied for a work visa for the position as a dialysis nurse. I was filed last april 1 2009 and was wondering when will i get to have a visa? Anyone with a similar status of mine???:specs:

Hi silverdragon.. yup you are right. it's not easy but i do pray that my relationship with the employer is good. It just so happened that the employer who is the administrator of the hospital is our close relative. Lets put all our trust in our God's name.

Sorry but there is definitely an exact answer: you need it.

I also got a working visa and never needed to show my VSC, but you have to have it whether or not someone asked to see if before granting the visa. If your case is audited and you did not have the VSC at the time of visa issuance, your visa can be cancelled.

Specializes in ICU med sure.

to lemuelRN: Hi! would like to know how's your H1B visa application with your agency? are you already in the US?

to ghillbert: may i know if you are already working in the US? what is your agency?

I have been working the US for the past 2.5 years. I do not have an agency.

Hi, I'm quite impressed with the discussion here. Actually I'm sort of in a desperate mode right now and I'm looking for any prospective employer who can help me get an H1B visa even if it means that I have to pay for some of the fees.

I got 3 years experience in Cardiac cath lab and CCU complete with a VSC and IELTS certificate.

It's kind of frustrating at this point when all there is, is wishful thinking on going to the US of A.

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

I think you will find it is illegal for you to pay some of the fees, the employer is supposed to pay all the fees regarding the H1b. You also need to be aware by reading some of the other forums that many US nurses are struggling to find work so will be hard (not impossible) for a employer to prove they can't employ a USC at the moment

Hi! does anyone know where to contact EGMP??

Hi, Carmenmagda2003,

Thanks, i'm good.. i'm enjoying the opportunity of having an h1b visa, currently working as an acute hemodialysis nurse here in Washington State.. i am very satisfied for the training that was given to me by my employer.. although i knew that my visa is just a temporary one, i really appreciate this kind of experience working here in the US and for another great opportunity for my children (also learning experiences for them, being able to study in different countries like Saudi Arabia, Philippines, New Zealand and now US..). Just try your very best, Pray, and you will also get the blessings... Good Luck and God Bless!!

Thanks for replying salveapril.

I am happy to hear you are already in US and doing well. That gives me hopes too. It shows that nothing is imposible as long you are focused on your dream. And you have really well focused!!! Look at all the countries that you have worked. By the way, my husband is a filipino like you.

Could you tell me if you got a contract for US through an agency or by your own means?

Thank you again salveapril and best wishes for you and your family. Ingat!

Yes, i signed a 3 yrs contract w/ the staffing agency that sponsored my visa.. but, time is so fast and i'm already approaching on my 1st yr here..

Hi, I'm already in line for waiting the GC processing in my home country, my priority date is on year 2007. I fullfill all the requirments of applying H1B visa as well. A hospital in CA is willing to offer me H1B. I would like to ask if I am eligiable to apply the H1b visa as I have intension to stay in US. (processing the GC petition)? Many thanks!!!
