GWU ABSN/VBSN Spring 2019 Cohort

Has anyone applied for the George Washington University Accelerated/Veteran's BSN program for the Spring of 2019?

Still haven't heard back. Anyone else? Think it might be time to officially reach out.

I would recommend reaching out just to get an update.

Does anyone know if the Ethics prerequisite has to be completed prior to starting the program or if it can be taken concurrently??

That is the only one I am missing and I don't want to be rejected just because of that :/

It has to be taken before starting the program. If that's a problem for you, you can choose to defer your admission to a later start date! I was in the same predicament and now am enrolled in Summer 2019 :)

I had three prerequisites to take before starting spring 19, i found them on university of Phoenix and have been taking them online. They start new classes every 5-7 weeks. That could be an option for u.

Hi! I'm new to this chat. I just received my Acceptance email on November 20th. Does anyone know when the semester starts? Admissions didn't provide me with any information yet. I did email them but I think they are away for the holiday. I would appreciate any help because I have to figure out housing ASAP. Thank you - Happy Holidays!

Hi! Congrats!! I believe that the semester starts mid January. Like around the 15th?

Hi everyone! Is anyone looking for a roommate? I am actually a current student in the ABSN program at GW in Ashburn, VA. I just finished my second semester and I wanted to let you all know that this is an incredible program, I absolutely love it and the professors are the best! Basically I am looking for an incoming student that would be interested in taking over my lease in a two bedroom at the Acadia by Cortland apartment complex in Ashburn. It is right next to the campus, within walking distance! It is a very nice and luxurious apartment complex and a great community to live in. The rent is $926 monthly plus utilities which run around $50-80 depending on the month. The other roommate is a male (this room is available for a male or female student, he has no preference). He will be entering his third semester. He is super nice, very easygoing, quiet, and clean. You would have your own room and bathroom with walk-in closet. It is the master bedroom. The lease is up in July but you have the option to extend it! The reason I am moving out is to move in with my best friend from the program and I willl actually be staying with a acadia because I like it so much. If you are interested please feel free to email me at [email protected]. Thanks so much!! Don't hesitate to email me if you are interested! Look forward to hearing from you! :) -Brooke

I also forgot to mention that the room is available for January 2019 move in! We are somewhat flexible with the date so just reach out if you have any questions or are interested. :)

@Misteighbloo not sure if you’ll still check this thread, but I was hoping you could tell me what the clinical hours are like? I’m trying to plan childcare and clinicals are the only times I don’t see on the pod selection. I select on Monday. Hopefully you’ll see this!

JChamber, first semester clinicals are Thursday, Friday, or Saturday. They technically run from 7 to 4, but most instructors want you to come a little earlier to get your assignment, like 6:30/6:45, and they’ll let you out around 3:45.

Hi everyone,

I was recently accepted however not entirely sure if I'd go due to the cost of the program ??‍♀️??‍♀️??‍♀️??‍♀️. Can anyone please let me know how did they manage their loans as well as if they were able to find job relatively soon after the program?

According to several Google searches, it said BSN nurses make about $26-$28 an hour in Virginia/DC ???? Can someone confirm if this true. I make a lot more than that at my current job. Bsns in other states make close to $100k.

Someone please confirm, I'd hate to take out a $100k loan and then end up with a low salaried job .

Many thanks and I hope everyone is doing well!
