Gwinnett Technical College...Applying for the Nursing Program Jan 2016

Published

Hey all!

Just wanted to see if any students on here is attending Gwinnett Tech and taking the pre-req for Nursing who will be applying January 2016 for the Fall 2016 program. I am signed up the take Micro this fall and will be applying in January. I'm not confident that I will be admitted into the program next Fall because of my GPA(2.9). I think I will have to retake A&P2 since I didn't do so well in that class. Hoping that I will score high on the Kaplan to see if that would help. I am planing on taking the Kaplan in October so if I need to retake, I can do so in late November or early December.

Me too!!!! Ahh so exciting!!

Idk what to do with myself. Like its so surreal. Btw my name is Lekeia. Nice 2 meet you.

Haha same here! I keep thinking "this is too good to be true!" I'm Kellie, it's nice to meet you Lekeia :)

Thanks @ Iwimbus0 congrats to you as well!!

Please help me on what is good study materials for the kaplan? Do you have any tips for taking the test. I can be contacted @ [email protected]

Kaplan is Math, Science, Writing, and Reading.

Math is my stronger subject so I just brushed up on word problems and it helped a lot. How to convert percentages to decimals and proportions as well. Its pretty simple.

Science was the hardest for me. You need to know your systems really. Info from A&P II. Urinary, Cardiovascular, Renal, Respiratory, etc. Study them very well.

Writing and Reading you can use the Kaplan Nursing Entrance exam book for practice or YouTube practice quizzes to help you be prepared. These subjects you either know it or you don't.

I had to take the Kaplan twice because the 1st time I made a 68 and the required score is 70. Don't be down on yourself if you have to take it twice because it serves as an advantage because the questions don't change. If you have great memory, you will do better the second time around. 2nd time I made an 80. Good luck to you and best wishes.

Has anyone heard/received anything else yet?

Nothing besides the banner info. Someone said they were mailing out letters today tho.

Is it just me or is waiting for this latter taking forever!!?? I'm checking the mail everyday, haha.
