Anyone else out there apply to GCSC and waiting for acceptance or anyone already get accepted? I got my letter last Friday and have seen only one other person! Looking for other students!!
I had a 95 on my HESI and had all coreqs complete except AP II, Micro and Pharm (was taking Pharm during the application process, done now). Gulf Coast places *great* emphasis on HESI scores relative to other programs (this is not "official" info, but do some digging around and you'll hear it again and again). Admission varies with each applicant pool but you seem to be in great shape.
As far as retaking the HESI is concerned, if your scores in all 4 sections are relatively close, I wouldn't do in unless you don't get in this time. If you have 3 great scores and one lagging, it might make sense to retake the one deficient section. This was my experience; I had near 100 in three sections and mid 80s in one. I was going to retake the one section, but my schedule at the time wouldn't allow it, and luckily it wasn't necessary.
I don't know if it varies from year to year, but we got our acceptance letters very quickly, just under three weeks after the deadline, I believe.
I realize this info is coming a bit late! I hope your application went well and wish you the best of luck!
Thank you Euphonicus! You helped relieve some of my anxiety. I received a 98% in reading, 96% in vocab, 94% in math, and 90% in grammar. I think I am going to retake math and grammar if I don't make it into the Fall program.
I am currently taking Microbiology and A&P II. My plan was to take Pharmacology in the summer if I am accepted, or taking it in the Fall if I am not.
I noticed that the trend seemed to be around 2-3 weeks for the letters. My advisor told me that they will be going out the first week of April. However, I noticed that she doesn't give out concrete answers to any of my questions. When I asked whether I should retake the HESI, she just said I could if I wanted. I am wondering if she gives generic answers to maintain fairness, maybe?
But thank you again and I hope the semester is going well for you.

The art center is on the far side of the campus and across from the workforce center.
