Anyone else out there apply to GCSC and waiting for acceptance or anyone already get accepted? I got my letter last Friday and have seen only one other person! Looking for other students!!
you'll be entering 3rd sem which is OB,Peds, psych. OB is by far the hardest with all the hormones and development stages. If you feel motivated, about a month before you start classes you can go over some basic things in the ob and peds books except psych. Mrs. Hannah is notoriously easy and you won't need to study much for her class. go over the stages of development in a newborn, during pregnancy, common childhood diseases and milestones.
Any suggestions on shoes??? Can we have slip ons as long as they are white? I hate laces and having to worry about them when in a hurry, so I figured slip on type shoes would be best for me. I have seen them online on some of the nursing sites but wanted to make sure before I bought anything!!
nurse mates should be fine. You won't need your scrubs til second 8 weeks, if you are questioning your shoes just bring a picture of them to the teacher before you buy.
These were the ones I was thinking about getting as they got awesome reviews and aren't breaking the bank and I thought about buying another shoe to have to change up with.

So we don't need scrubs at all for the start of school? Should we buy them anyways or wait?
I hate how we don't get any information until at least next month. That drives me crazy. I am a planner and feel helpless, but at least I am not left alone.LOL! The whole class is right there along with me;)
I thought about getting the ones I wanted and just making the silver at the bottom white myself. I have done this kind of thing before. Silly i know as I could just buy another pair already completely white, but I have had a pair just like them and they are super duper comfortable. Wish this wasn't so complicated.
Now that I am looking at them they have a little silver to the stretchy laces...ugh! I sent an email to my advisor just to ask but haven't heard back yet.
I bought mine before school started but if you want to wait you can. No one starts clinicals or needs scrubs until they pass fundamentals which is the first 8 weeks.
Makes sense. So what do we have to wear to school during the first 8 weeks? Do we have to dress up/work clothes or can we wear whatever?

I saw that awhile back, when I looked at the schedule (when it was only available to view) and it didn't seem to bad! This will def help me in getting settled back into going to school full time and not just jumping into it all at once!!!
