GRU CNL PROGRAM 2016 admissions

Published

Hi, will anyone here be applying for the 2016 admissions for the CNL program at GRU in Augusta, GA?! If so could you share some of your career background/experience and stats! Also if some of you who are currently or have been in the program could give some input that would be awesome too!!

For those excepted, do they ask you to pay a fee to reserve your spot in the class? If so, what is the amount if you dont mind me asking?

Also, I am wondering if I should retake the GRE....I got a 295 (standardized tests are not my forte). I have a 3.42 undergrad GPA and a 4.0 prereq GPA (i still have to take Human Anatomy and Physiology II and Microbiology). Thoughts? Clearly I am freaking out :)

The only things I have had to pay are the app fee and the supplemental app few. I don't think there is anything else until tuition is due. I could be wrong, but I haven't heard of anything.

Have you thought about trying the MAT? It's cheaper!

I dont really know much about the MAT. What is its focus? I stink at math. I took the GRE twice. Im just wondering how much that score is being factored into my potential admittance. I dont know how much value the place on your test score.

I agree, I actually enjoyed the MAT...to an extent:)

The MAT has minimal math, it is analogies that cover language/science/humanities/math etc.

Im so conflicted haha. I want to get in so bad but the idea of taking another standardized test makes me nauseous ;)

Example: Raven: Poe::Whale: (1.Wordsworth 2.Melville 3.Hawthorne 4.Woolf)

You have to make the connection that Herman Melville wrote Moby Dick. There are 120 analogies to be completed in 60 mins.

Did you use a study book or some time of study aide?

I found reviewing for the MAT to be much more fun than when I was studying for the GRE. My math isn't the best either:) Review for the MAT was more about authors/artists/composers/vocab/historical figures/biology/chemistry/geography etc. A little bit of everything. If you reviewed a bit of vocab for the GRE, you are about 5 steps ahead already:) The MAT is only 60 mins and $75 too, so less intimidating than the GRE.

I bought the Kaplan book and checked the Barron's book out from the library. Both were helpful for review and cluing me in on what type of topics to expect. For the most part however, it's mainly what random knowledge you already have hiding in your mind:)
