GRU / Augusta University MSN CNL Fall 2017

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Published

Hey guys, anyone else applying to the CNL program at Augusta University ( previously known as GRU)? I am going to be applying and if admitted I think I would prefer to make my move a few months post acceptance. I have 2 bachelors and my passion is with Psychiatric Mental health but I really don't want another Bachelors so the CNL seems just fine to have under my belt until I maneuver into a DNP program. It all sounds so pricey but in the end I believe it will be worth the while. I know I am early but hopefully others are interested. My scores aren't great but I saw people with similar scores with acceptance so lets just pray. I have great grades it is just one school gave me F's instead of W's when I withdrew in 2008 and I have had hell getting it off my record but it has no bearing on my gpa it is still "good" just not where it could be without 4-5 F's.

I made the decision to reapply this year, and am immediately nervous! The upside is that NursingCAS had everything short of my essay and letters of recommendation saved from last year. I feel even more nervous this year than I did last year, even knowing that I was previously accepted. I ended up declining my seat because my son started having developmental issues that we wanted to focus on correcting. I'm just hoping it isn't viewed as me not being serious about the program because I declined the acceptance!:(

Is anyone having trouble with their personal statement in the application? I have 1970 words (I know, cutting it close) and I'm only able to past about 80% of my essay before it cuts off.

Disregard, I reached the character limit on the application and had to trim a bit of fat from the essay:)

Hey. Sorry to hear that. It's words that are counted. It's characters. When I submitted my application I found out the hard way that when doing the achievements. Type and you will see the character count decrease not word.

Thanks for the response! As soon as I realized it, I immediately remembered the pain I went through last December when I made the same exact realization and had to start editing. How quickly we forget unpleasant experiences hahaha:)

I have almost 1500 words and my character count is already at 8223 words

Yeah, I was able to trim down to 9996 characters (!). I couldn't say more if I tried at this point!

How long did it take for you to hear back for an interview??? Also, when did you put in your application for review???

I looked at my timeline from last year. Nov. 23rd I submitted to NursingCAS. I received an email that it was verified on Nov. 25th, and Augusta University sent me an email that they received it and were reviewing it Dec. 4th. I received the Interview email Dec. 7th, and interviewed on the 18th. I believe I received the acceptance call towards the end of January.

I remember last year that it was pretty much silence from AU until after the holiday. I also had my interview the Friday before Christmas break commenced, so I'm not sure if that added to the wait time between interview and acceptance notification or if it takes that long regardless:) My last reference letter was submitted this morning so I will be submitting my application this afternoon. And so the wait begins...
