Grossmont Fall 2018 Cohort

Published

Is the right place for the topic? I tried to search for an existing thread but couldn't find it.

I'm hoping to meet other applicants for the Fall 2018 ADN program at Grossmont. I just finished my TEAS (92%) with an estimated 83-85 points overall. Let's get to know each other!

Trying to remain hopeful! Congratulations to everyone! ☺️

Yes, Hope is all we have and lets hold on to that. Everything will work out for everyone at the end! Have a great weekend.

I know, it's so hard to stay positive. I'm trying to be optimistic, but not super hopeful because I don't want to be totally devastated if it doesn't happen. But there is still a chance so we just have to keep our chin up. And I think it helps to know that we're not alone and we support each other.

Hi everyone, I am sure that I won't make this years cohort because in comparison my points are very low. I only scored a 79.4 on the TEAS, but because it was my first time I was told I could retake the test and apply for the next cohort. My question to all you high test scorers, how did you study!!??

I bought a study book from ATI but I felt like nothing that I prepared for was on the actual test. Any suggestions?

Thank you and congrats to all that got in to fall 2018!!!

I scored a 94% on the TEAS and I used a couple different methods. The practice exams on the ATI website were incredibly helpful. They told me exactly what I was doing wrong and how to fix it. I didn't buy the ATI book, I used the Mometrix one. It was alright. It was the most helpful on the English and math sections. For the science section, I knew which categories to review because of the ATI practice test and I went back through my A&P PowerPoints to review them. There's also a couple TEAS prep groups on Facebook. They're amazing! They share study guides and practice tests. I honestly wouldn't have passed without those groups.

Also, I know the practice exams are expensive so if you can only afford one, get Practice B. It's harder than version A, but it lets you take it twice. I found the actual TEAS easier than the Practice B.

Thank you! Are the practice tests the "A" and "B" ones? I overheard others on my test day discussing those.

Yes, they are :) but like I said, the Practice B is harder and more well-rounded so if you have to pick one, that's the best one to go with.

Does anyone have any info on possible clinical sites? THX

Sharp Grossmont, Scripps La Jolla, or the old Kaiser are the clinical location and you don't get to pick which one. Its random pick.

I studied with friends which helped! I used the Mometrix TEAS guide, and my friends had the ATI test book. I also looked up "free TEAS practice tests" and found a few online. I heard the A and B tests were worth the investment, but I didn't try them. I scored a 92.
