I just got my letter from GCC and was wait listed. I was wondering if anyone here knew from past years how far they have gone into the wait list? I'm really stressing over this right now because it was the program I really wanted to get into and I'm hoping that I still have a chance of getting in.

Do you know what # you are on the wait-list? I know somebody who was notified the day before the program started that they were in. So don't lose hope!
Also, if it turns out that you don't get in, you might want to go ahead and do their 1-year LPN program because then you automatically get into the 2nd year of the RN program. So at the end of 2 years you have an RN, just like the rest of them who weren't waitlisted. And you would actually get a much more intensive clinical education via the LPN program. Just putting this out there so that you have something positive to work on while you're waiting to hear about the waitlist.

I graduated in 2011 from that program, and I know several people in my class were notified of acceptance from the waitlist 2 days before classes started. There was one woman who didn't even attend orientation because she found out so late. I also know a few people who said they thought they were waitlisted in the 40s (do they tell you your number? I feel like someone knew someone in admissions who was able to tell them their number) but never heard anything. I think that GCC is a first choice for a lot of people, it is a popular and well-respected program, so they probably don't go too far down on the list. I agree with what greenbeanio said above. That was my back-up plan, and very respectable one! Good luck!
Thanks, guys, I appreciate the replies. I'm in the top 5 (I feel weird about saying what number I am definitively because I feel like it might somehow identify me irl). I do know that so far one student was accepted from the wait list, so I've been bumped up one spot. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed at the moment and hoping it all works out. I'm also applying for the LPN program and if I don't get into that, I think I'll do the medical assisting program for the next year while I wait to reapply to the RN program. I have all of the prerequisites done for the RN program, and I got A's in all of them, so with any luck if I don't get in for the Fall, I'll be accepted next year.
