Green Card on the way!

hello! I am soooo happy! I got an email from USCIS on july 11, 2007 stating my current status and it said that, CURRENT STATUS: Card production ordered. Today, july 12, got an email from USCIS again stating, CURRENT STATUS: Approval notice sent RE I485 application to register permanent residence or to adjust status..

If I am not mistaken, it seems to me that my GC is on its way... I was thinking of renewing my EAD when I got this mail.

PD DATE Oct. 23, 2006

I140 approved: Nov 20, 2006

EAD arrival: Nov 20, 2006

Good Luck to others! Remember, patience is a virtue! BTW, I am from PI currently working here in CA, USA...:lol2: I'll be updating you guys once I receive my GC!

It is actually in violation of US immigration law to come to the US on a tourist visa with the purpose of staying. That is why you hear of attorneys wanting the client to wait three months before they will consider submitting a petition in most cases. Very easy to get denied, and if it does, then you need to leave the US. It cannot be appealed in the court system.

And lately, just seeing quite a few from PI only be given three month visas when they arrive in the US. It is up to the immigration official at the desk when you arrive. They are the final decision maker as to how long that you can stay. With immigration the way that it is now, and with no visas being available, the AOS is not a reality at this time. And do not know when it will be again.

It is also very hard now to get a tourist visa for the US if they do not already have one. The requirements have gotten much stricter than they have been in the past. And basically because of people coming over and staying. Makes it bad for everyone else. The AOS was designed for those that were in the US on other visas, such as student, or H1-B, or something similar. Never meant to be specifically for those that came with the purpose of staying and never leaving.

We went to guam last nov, lucky for me we were given 6mons but we only stayed for a week hmm! thanks

thats so good..im happy for you. good luck in your work.

okay beah, but what i am asking is when you arrived there in the US last year as a tourist...did you pass the nclex rn already? would that matter in the US immigration when you arrived knowing that you are a nurse and passed nclex? i heard rumors that the US immigration officer, when u arrived there, would know if u pass nlcex-rn they said it will be seen in their computer probably in your record. your entry will be denied. but i doubt it! hmm how true?

nope I didn't pass my nclex yet when I entered USA last year...

congrats to all of you:)

I got the approval notice too! Today, they sent an email to inform me that the approval notice was on its way. Still in a shock! Cannot believe it!

I am from PRC and priority date is Oct. 23, 2006. The service center is Texas service center.

does anybody got approval from nebraska???
of 5 cases i know of...none.

the earliest pd is july 2006. i-140 was approved, but no i-485 yet.

my friend called nsc, but was told he can talk to a person after 60 or 90 days--that's next month.

i would appreciate any good news about nebraska cases.

first of all i would like to congratulate people who were able to get their gc's, i believe some of them waited for a long time and some of them have not.

this is a sad reality for people who are patiently waiting. in the other hand they said patience is a virtue that sane people poses. :)

most people who applied i-485 at the texas service center got their or their gc are on the mail and their labor application was only filed on august 2006 and their gc was approved july 2007 under eb3. actually, i have seen 3 individuals who's gc's were approved in the texas service center this past week. i guess applying for i-485 or locally known as green card is 90% luck and 10% patience or maybe tsc is just more efficient or have the manpower to do it or maybe there are some other factors that they (texas service center) only knew. i don't know it is hard to speculate.

oh well i think my lawyer and i have done our part. now i will call some help from above. i believe he is the only one who will have the final decision on when will my visa be ever issued.

Well My priority date was June 15,06 and I only just got the message today that my I-485 was approved and the card ordered for production.:lol2:

Guess nothing happens before the time.Last year just before retrogression I saw people with priority dates much later than mine getting approval.I was not asked for additional information and submitted nothing else but here one year later my approval....

There doesnt seem to be any reason with which they process these applications and so I dont know if the priority dates carry that much weight.

You need some luck as well

got the same letter hope it is not a hoax.... heheeh sometime i get too paranoid..thanksandcongrats to all of us

i have never put much weight in pd dates, more on when the file gets completed. hard to guess with the aos process, but with the cp, definitely with when the case is completed. those with long ago pd dates for nurses, usually means that there were problems with one or more of their petitions. and again, not the fault of uscis. i know that they are at fault at times, but not to the extent that i see them get blamed. usually the fault of the agency, or the attorney that did the paperwork.

and great to hear that green is coming your way.

yup, I was on tourist visa then I applied for AOS last year before retrogression started... THANKS!

Congratulations! AOS on a tourist visa really worked for you. Here's to the success of all the tourists out there applying for AOS. Good luck to all nurses on tourist visas.

:lol2::lol2::lol2:
