gre in less then 30 days

Hello everyone I am new to this site and I love it. I need some advice. I have over 14 years RN experiene, and 10 years ICU experience (Trauma/CTICU), I am applying to several CRNA program , for next year. My grades are good (3.5 overall average, science 3.7 overall average). I am afraid to take the gre, I need to take it my next month, October. Do I take a review class? try to study by myself? Over the summer I tried to study, I schedule myself for the test and cancelled it, ( I am afraid that I may get a low score and it would not represent what I am capable of doing in the program) Pleaseee...... help, I need some advice soon.

I suggest buying the Kaplan GRE review book, do a bunch of practice questions/tests and do some review of the math. Put in a little time every day for a few weeks and then take the test. You will do fine. Good luck.

I just wanted to let you that if you aren't that great in math, Kaplan may not be one of the best out there. I found out that many of the math problems and solutions were wrong. I had several math friends help me and quickly discovered that due to poor editing, the edition that I was using had the wrong answers to math problems.

For vocab, it's one of the best. But if you need more review in math, I suggest not to go with Kaplan for this reason.

The GRE is unique in that it is a standardized test, but you can study for it and improve your score. With most standarized tests that is not possible. It does not seem that difficult though and I definately wouldn't waste money on a review course. I bought a review book at Barnes and Noble and it seems pretty good so far. It goes over all the equations you may see and has the most common vocab. Don't stress over it too much; the GRE is just one component that schools will look at!

Thanks everyone for your responses. I will hope study, hope for the best and pray.

Is your school strictly GRE or you have an option of taking MAT test? I found MAT test easier...

I, too am studying for the GRE and was wondering how long it takes to get your score, and then onto the schools of choice.

You will know your score of the math and verbal sections as soon as you finish. I got my scores about 3 weeks later and assume the schools did about the same time.
