  1. i have a ? if a pt has cerebral death can they still breathe w/o the help of ventilatroy support? I know that w/ brain death a pt is unable to breath w/o a vent. is there a difference b/t the two. I need help, please someone clarify this. i have looked in several critical nursing books and several prof. journal articles and cant find it. HHEEELLLLLPPPPPPP!!!!!!!
  2. Are there any better areas to live that are outside of greenville say within 30 minutes or so? Plus would I get good experience working in their ICU? I would like to further my education after working for 2 years or so. Oh yeah thanks for the other replies.
  3. I was considering delta regional med center after school. Can anyone tell me if this is good place to work and learn in the ICU after graduation? How is the area, is it a good place to live? Any input would be greatly appreciated.
  4. I was wondering. I know that tons of applicants that are more than qualified get left out when CRNA schools pull from their applicant pools. From this site, I am getting a feel that most programs have a seat to applicant at about 1:50 (or even higher). Out of all of these applicants how many are truly qualified for entry into a program (GPA, work exp., GRE, letters of rec, certs, etc.? I was wondering if people that do not meet the requirements just put an application and wish for the best. Is that why the ratio is so high or is there just that many people out there that are qualified? Any thoughts:uhoh3: ?

  8. i saw that singing river hospital in mississippi offers a sweet scholarship in return for some work. anyone here work at this hospital and if so how is it? any feedback would be appreciated. thanks
  9. 3.6 will get you in. you dont have to be a rocket scientist to get in. i guess the one thing that is hard about it is that you have around three tests a week. i think everyone in our class is doing good though i would say at least B's. it is hard though. anything less than a C average and they might tell you take it to the house. it can be done.
  10. oh yeah and there are around twenty in each class.
  11. tuition is about $10,000 for in state. so out of state is going to be pretty expensive. but i think that there are some ways to change residency to alabama. kinda expensive. whats up with the bueller?
  12. I just completed my b.s. in biology and am starting an a.d.n program in january. like everyone elsehere, am trying to put myself in a position to put a great application out to some crna programs in a couple of years. If i could do it all over again i would have went with a traditional bsn program and tried to mix in some orgo and physics along the way. the reason i say this is that you will have to take some really hard bio classes that will serve you no purpose in life, i.e. limnology, invertebrate zoology, ecology, plant form and function just to name a few :angryfire . i think that the only classes that will help me get into crna school were things like genetics, physics, chem, orgo, a/p, immunology, histology. every college has there weird bio classes that you have to take to meet the degree reqs. bro if you know this is what you want to do, go with the bsn.
  13. I was wondering if any crna's here have gotten into a crna program with an associate degree in nurisng with a previous B.S. in a health related field. thanks
