Grayson County College ADN Fall 2015

Well, it's time for another application process. I don't know about y'all but I am ready to start this program! I have been reading these threads and boards for what feels like years trying to do all that I can to get in!! And I have finally reached that time.

I just turned in my application. I hope some of y'all are out there reading this. I would like to know who all is applying this year. I just wish it wouldn't take until JULY to find out if we make it in or not!! I understand why but dang! I don't want to commit to something else and then look like a flake 'when' I get my yes from Grayson! :nailbiting:

I just wanted to know where you stood on the points line and how many times you've applied OR if you are currently in the program what kind of advice you can lend and give.

Thanks!!!

Yeah, I got it this morning, I got in but Hix is telling me that I still need to turn in my A&B hep #3 shots which I did. So I guess I have to go in and make sure I hand them to her personally.

I hope you get in too, I've been talking to you guys for what seems like forever and It'd be cool to meet everybody. :)

Yay that is so exciting! Frustrating that you have to make a trip to turn in the shot record but at least you already have them done so its not something too bad to stress about!

Hi! When did you receive your emails?

I was waitlisted too. I swear when I went in one of the ladies and I sat down and calculated my points which came out to 24. The letter says I only have 21. That is so strange! I emailed Hix to ask where I am missing points because it does not make sense. I have taken all pre-reqs too and made good grades. Well I got into TCU however I wanted to have a backup school in case I couldn't get enough loans for TCU.

I know that the total # of points went down to 26 for out of county and 28 for in county because they stopped requiring sociology and speech. Not sure if that helps with the calculations at all! I ended up with 21 points as well I am so upset because I scored an 88 on the HESI so just a couple more points I would have had 22 points! Hope we both get in!

Ok well that makes sense of where those other points went. I had calculated sociology and speech in. Well that stinks!

I went to sign up for the CPR class at CWL and they were full, so I asked CH where else I could sign up. She said that she had talked to them and they were going to add more classes next week. So if any one else needs to do their CPR hang in there.

If you don't mind me asking what was your HESI score?

I got an 86.5. didn't do as well as i hoped on the math part. lol

The reading comprehension part did me in! I saved it for the end assuming it was the "easiest" section and wanted to get the hardest parts done first (Specifically the A&P portion I was taking for a different program) by the time I got to reading comprehension I was so ready to leave I didn't pay close enough attention. My grade was 88 overall...I'm hoping that is high enough to put me close to the top of the wait list! Since the cut off is 22 points and I have 21.

My wife and I were talking about the point thing last night, and I told her about you having 21 points. She was thinking you have a very good chance, because theoretically 22 was the lowest accepted to fill the seats. So the two gals we know accepted somewhere else opened up at the very minimum 2 seats.

Does anyone know which CPR class we have to have? I have heard 2 different things. I was planning on taking "Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider Course"...is this correct?
