Well, it's time for another application process. I don't know about y'all but I am ready to start this program! I have been reading these threads and boards for what feels like years trying to do all that I can to get in!! And I have finally reached that time.
I just turned in my application. I hope some of y'all are out there reading this. I would like to know who all is applying this year. I just wish it wouldn't take until JULY to find out if we make it in or not!! I understand why but dang! I don't want to commit to something else and then look like a flake 'when' I get my yes from Grayson!
I just wanted to know where you stood on the points line and how many times you've applied OR if you are currently in the program what kind of advice you can lend and give.
Thanks!!!
I emailed her and asked her why we're we're getting finger printing done so early without knowing if we had been accepted or not. She said last application period people weren't able to get in the program because their background checks didn't come back in time. So I think everyone will have to do it early. Disappointing because I hate that I'm wasting money if I don't get in but I'm still hopeful! I've seen a lot of people on other threads comment that they applied at Grayson but got accepted to their first choice school and are going there. Hope that increases my chances even more! I really want to get in this time but I'm nervous since I'm only sitting on 24 points.
First time at Grayson. I applied at Collin for spring 2015 and fall 2015 didn't get in either time. The fact that they switched their point system to give 4 extra points for honors courses really messed with my points! So I didn't get in either time. Holding out now for Grayson. Don't think I will be able to wait for another application period after this time so it'll be back to square 1!
Same here. Applied to Collin for Spring and Fall of 2015 and didn't get in for either term. This is my first time applying to Grayson. If I don't get in, I am applying to an allied health program and then I will just try to gain acceptance through the 'back door'. I've heard it's easier to get into nursing school through hospital mentor programs. All of my science classes will start to expire in 3 years so that doesn't leave a lot of time. I really don't want to retake them if I don't have to.
Huge bummer, well I'm pulling for ya, actually I'm pulling for all of us. Hope to meet ya at orientation.
I really hope we all get in and at 27 points in sure you will! It's really upsetting when you don't get in...not just because of the obvious disappointment from not getting in; but also I honestly don't think the people in my extended family or friends understand how truly competitive it is to get into these programs and it makes me feel ashamed or embarrassed like they think I should have tried harder or find something else to go to school for. I know they don't think those things they're very supportive but it's still a blow everytime I don't get in!

I emailed her last night and she said she had to resend some names to the BON and would send me my paperwork today - hopefully I will receive the email by tomorrow?
