Grayson County College ADN Fall 2015

U.S.A. Texas

Well, it's time for another application process. I don't know about y'all but I am ready to start this program! I have been reading these threads and boards for what feels like years trying to do all that I can to get in!! And I have finally reached that time.

I just turned in my application. I hope some of y'all are out there reading this. I would like to know who all is applying this year. I just wish it wouldn't take until JULY to find out if we make it in or not!! I understand why but dang! I don't want to commit to something else and then look like a flake 'when' I get my yes from Grayson! :nailbiting:

I just wanted to know where you stood on the points line and how many times you've applied OR if you are currently in the program what kind of advice you can lend and give.

Thanks!!!

I still haven't received the email regarding fingerprints. When I called up there she said not everyone is being asked and it's not an indication on whether you got in or not- but doesn't it make logical sense that with only a month to get everything done, (after selections are made in July and then orientation and classes start in August) they are contacting the ones who probably got in? I don't know. I'm not going to worry about it.

You're right about it being odd, but from everything that I've been reading and my own experiences there's a lot that's odd when it comes to the nursing program.

I agree you shouldn't sweat it. Once we get in I'm sure IMO that there will be a lot of odd moments.

Hello there! I also applied with only 24 points from what I calculated :/

I am hopeful that since most schools would have told you if you had been accepted or not by then that this will cause others not to accept.

Because of them eliminating sociology and speech from the points system does that mean out of county applicants only eligible for 26 points total now and 28 for in county?

i didn't get an email about finger prints and it has me freaking out as to why some people are getting emails about it and others aren't :/ hope it isn't any indication as to whether or not we were accepted!

I only have 24 points as well...with the way they changed the point system though I may be down to only 22 points (without sociology and speech) this isn't making my chances look very good! I really hope I get in because I did not get in to the Collin nursing program.

I guess it depends, I have 25 without Sociology and Speech, and 27 with them. But they're not required for this fall application process, so not sure. What about you?

Yes, I think so.

I emailed C.H. And she sent me the info on steps to take to get background check and finger prints. Hope I get in and am not out $40!

I wonder if you're right cause I had already gotten the registration and finger printing done when she mailed me. And it's good to hear that there are less applicants than when I asked, I hope it's a good sign for us.
