Additionally, there is mention of GCU transitioning back to a non-profit status and the impact of this change on students.

Howdy all, I bit the bullet and after much research, I decided on Grand Canyon! Wow, I did not expect BSN schools to be like used car salesmen--hounding me by emails and phone calls. Rather impressed on how Grand Canyon sort of left me alone, but at the same time kept in touch.

Commence my first class Sept 30th, excited, yet very nervous, as I'm not a big fan of school, LOL! I did extremely well on my Associate degree, graduated back in 2009 from Northern Virginia Community College. We shall see.

Would love to hear from past and present Grand Canyon RN to BSN students.

Oh and this week is just insane, my kids and I are heading to California tomorrow to visit grandma and grandpa, and spending Fri & Sat at Disney/California Adventure. Plus other fun stuff and we don't come back home until next week. I still have this Friday's DQ and my primary/secondary/tertiary paper on health promotion to do, plus my 4 responses to peers. I'm panicking a little. :wideyed:

Rainyn, I don't plan on taking a break after this class but I'm definitely going to consider it. I find it sad that it's only my second class and I'm feeling this way. I'm thinking it could possibly be that I've been fighting this cold/flu for the last week and 1/2 and I have no energy to do any school work let alone work my night shifts :/ I'm thinking once I get to 100% health I'll be more motivated, hopefully!

Hello all, does anyone have any recommendations on what instructors to take or avoid for Health Assessment? Please PM me and thank you in advance :)

Rainyn, I totally understand that panic/anxiety. It's easy to say just do your school work while on vacation but nobody wants to do school work while on vacation :/ With summer coming up which includes family vacations I'm having anxiety just thinking about having to get my school work done on the road. I think I'm going to look in to a Wifi system for my vehicle so I can be productive while on the road.

Maybe they changed requirements in the last few months?

They had to of. cause I was told I had extra credits transferred in and that I wouldn't have to take ethics since I already had taken it. But then they said I needed the 36 through GCU to graduate.

I am doing it for the second time now. I don't wanna do it anymore. Can't I just use what I said in the quick one? Crap, this is a lot of work.

Yes, pretty much. Just take bits and pieces and throw in a few stats and you should be good.

I threw in some extra information, but I still feel as if I left so much out. Ahhh, I do not like this paper. Next week looks even worse

I'm sure the cold/flu you have going on is not helping. When I had food poisoning for 2 weeks I went to urgent care for IV fluids and came home and worked on a paper. You don't even wanna know where I was sitting while typing some of my papers.

You are in the beginning of the program, which I believe is the toughest part of the program. It's a HUGE learning curve of school, because you are adjusting to a new way of life, such as limited family time, jugging commitments, and wondering how you are going to fit in writing a paper and working. However, it CAN be done. Is it fun? No. However, once you get past the first few classes, you sort of slide into the zone and coast from there .

Tokmom, OMG!!! No FUN! I'm sure this cold/flu hasn't helped one bit, I've just felt totally wiped out. It's encouraging to know that although the the material from the class is probably the easiest (from what I hear), it's the adjusting that makes it so hard in the beginning. Thank you for your encouraging words Tokmom and I hope to get into the zone real quick :)
