Grand Canyon University RN to BSN Reviews

Howdy all, I bit the bullet and after much research, I decided on Grand Canyon! Wow, I did not expect BSN schools to be like used car salesmen--hounding me by emails and phone calls. Rather impressed on how Grand Canyon sort of left me alone, but at the same time kept in touch.

Commence my first class Sept 30th, excited, yet very nervous, as I'm not a big fan of school, LOL! I did extremely well on my Associate degree, graduated back in 2009 from Northern Virginia Community College. We shall see.

Would love to hear from past and present Grand Canyon RN to BSN students.

oh wow if I didn't take a break we could have been in the same class! So ethics sounds interesting... -_-

I am in week 2 in Leadership and Vocation and then the capstone. Are you almost completed?

Hey Rob,

Do you know your capstone topic yet?

Yes, and a PICOT question as well from Intro to Research. I have 16 articles but not sure that I will be able to use all of them. Thinking I need to come up with a couple more just to make sure I have enough.

Over the Thanksgiving Holiday I am going into work and print out all the articles so I can have hard copies.

Oh no five classes left -_- I did things out of order, I guess seeing what other people took. I was going to take leadership but switched to religion (ethics for some reason dropped off my list but it's all fixed now yippie!). I still have ethics. I think that is what everyone is taking that was with me.

Do you want to share your topic? I'm curious on what people choose.

I was a hard copy person. I had pink stickers for the quant topics, and green for qualitative with 1-18 on them. It goal was a quick visual and numbering helped me keep them straight, lol. The hideous lit review was the worst. That sucker took me 10 hours. Everyone abandoned me except my cat. I think he kept me sane, yet annoyed me by flopping on my papers, lol.

Hi All- I'm currently enrolled in GCU RN to BSN program. In the midst of my 3rd class Health Assessment. Multiple classmates are having issues with this instructor. When questions are asked or clarifications sought regarding assignments she just copies and pastes the assignment instructions. There's even a thread on our forum multiple students are utilizing to try to help each other find answers to questions and provide support. Needless to say I'm not sure my last assignment was even completed correctly (she takes a long time to grade assignments).

Right now the wellness care plan for Health History and Screening of an Adolescent or Young Adult Client has me stumped. I'm working on researching it on my own and have been utilizing the care plans books GCU provided. Just frustrating to not be able to get guidance or clarification. My last two instructors were phenomenal and I'm hoping to avoid instructors like this in the future. Any good experiences or recommendations for instructors? Specifically, Concepts in Community and Public Health or Introduction to Nursing Research.

Hey guys. I have completed my BSN with GCU it is doable. Has anyone on this thread or recommend some info on there MSN program focusing on education and if it is doable to take the first 2 classes together or is it too difficult? Please help???

Trying to find someone that has done it and getting no response back.

Sorry I can't help as I have not done it. Two weeks from starting my capstone, then going to do a mostly online WHNP Masters program.

Hope you find what you are looking for.

I am excited to be so close to having it all completed and finally put BSN after my name. While I was doing my paperwork for my Masters application, I realized I have been working on this off and on since the early 1990's. I will be glad to have this part of the journey completed.

I have some other issues that are occurring simultaneously that make this not so great timing - more on the issues part than anything else. It is what it is and I will get it completed. :D

I with I could help, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of MSN students around.
