Members are discussing the accreditation and acceptance of BSN and MSN degrees from GCU in different states, particularly focusing on the requirement of a preceptorship for BSN programs. There are concerns about certain states not accepting GCU BSN degrees, while others share experiences with the capstone course and offer tips for scholarly activities. Additionally, there is mention of GCU transitioning back to a non-profit status and the impact of this change on students.
Howdy all, I bit the bullet and after much research, I decided on Grand Canyon! Wow, I did not expect BSN schools to be like used car salesmen--hounding me by emails and phone calls. Rather impressed on how Grand Canyon sort of left me alone, but at the same time kept in touch.
Commence my first class Sept 30th, excited, yet very nervous, as I'm not a big fan of school, LOL! I did extremely well on my Associate degree, graduated back in 2009 from Northern Virginia Community College. We shall see.
Would love to hear from past and present Grand Canyon RN to BSN students.
Thank God I do not have to take ethics. I heard that was not a nice class or spirituality which I start in 6weeks.
In my first week of ethics and I don't like this class already. Trying to write my first paper about my personal ethics. I don't like to write about me lol. I find it hard to find references and also I find it boring. There is no assignment for week 2. Is that correct? I am afraid to celebrate and then something comes in the last minute.
That is correct, no assignment for week 2 (at least it was for me in August). But..TRUST ME ON THIS ONE... Use that week to get your dang CLC people on the same page!!! The CLC will be disastrous if people do not communicate and do not all get on the same page - this happened to me, people understood the assignment differently and by the time it was finally clarified (due to your usual MIA members, etc.), it was left up to me to clean up the mess at the last possible second. (I'm pretty sure I may have even gone so far as to type a forum message similar to, "HELLOOOOO????") Seriously, not trying to scare you, but that was the world's all-time worst CLC experience I've ever had. Here's hoping your group understands what is expected of them, has adequate in-forum conversations, comes to a united decision, and then does their part of the paper(s) correctly.
I was thinking in combining the last week of Pathophys with the first week of Trends. Is this doable? How is the last week of pathophys? What kind of assignments? Is trends paper heavy? Does it start with a lot of work? Thanks for your input.
Finished week 1 of stats with 100%...wonderful.Now working on week 2...almost done should have everything submitted by tomorrow evening then a few breather days.
I honestly have to say that i waited too long to start this transition program because i was so afraid of stats.
To everyone: anything is possible if you push yourself!!!
I totally agree with you. It was a challenge . I wish I had gone through this program a few years ago. I guess we weren't at that point yet in our lives.

Really? They were both ok classes. Glad you don't have to take it twice if you have taken it before though.

I can't remember off hand, but the dq in patho are quite large and there is a clc. Trends has the usual paper due with clc. It may be doable for one week.
Well I got caught up here, while I wait for the last CLC slide content that is due TODAY!!!! This is the latest that someone has ever handed in CLC material in one of my groups. Come on girly, get 'er done, and don't make me freak! Not that late to the game Lucy - now wants to rewrite everyone's assignment girl - isn't doing that anyway!

Noooooooo, if you (YOU) had done this a few years ago, WE would not be here. I probably wouldn't have stalked you if your original GCU inquiry thread had been like 2009 or something. So, everything happens for a reason, I am where I am because of YOU, and this totally rad group of AN'ers would not exist (heaven forbid we might all be spread out amongst WGU, UT Arlington, and *gasp* UofP threads! ). So don't wish me away tokmom!

Can I be in one of your groups? I've never ever had the final stuff due by a Tuesday night (we've always shot for Thursday, Friday morning at the latest, for those who work nights), and if it was, they would have made me sweat until Sunday anyway! Meanies. I wanna do-over.

I would love to have done a CLC with you too! The CLC is totally done except for that one slide. I have to admit I am a bit of a type A, hehehehe. Now everyone can get a head start on their next class or for me relax with the fam bam. IF SHE WILL POST IT!!! I have tomorrow and if push comes to shove I will work on it on Sunday. Ces't la vie! (You KNOW I don't mean that last part!)
