Grand Canyon University Fall 2016 Hopefuls??

Published

Whew! Took the GCU HESI exam today and did good! What a relief to have this part over with! Now I'm getting excited that nursing school could be a reality in the near future, hopefully fall 2016 (4 months away?) Started the pre req process just about 3 years ago now. Anyone else applying to GCU's fall cohort?? Since the application deadline is May 15th we should find out early to mid June if we were accepted :nailbiting:

@Jmlr

I just realized I have my nursing schedule in my GCU app when I look at the classes. It lists my clinical on Thursday from 6am to 6:05am. Does that just mean I will be scheduled for the 12 hour clinical that day? If the it said 6:05pm it would make more sense!

I am not sure of the answer to that one. Does it show you having clinicals from the start of the semester or is it several weeks into the program?? I agree it would make sense if it said PM. But I would assume that it probably is until you confirm it with your advisor.

Yes, it shows from the beginning but I assume it's just a generic listing. I will get my real paper schedule soon in the mail which I hope is more detailed.

@rkstjohn

I have all A's for my pre-req classes, so I can't retake anything.

I was told by my SSA that if I took 3 more classes in the Fall that it would bring me up to Tier 1? I will ask for clarification when I meet with her in an hour. If I am stuck at Tier 2, then I don't have anything else to take... and I won't bother doing a psych minor.

Thanks for info!

I thought your GPA was 3.45? Have her check with her supervisor. I have 3.67 and was tier 2. SSA's all give different info!

Nope. I have a 4.0 GPA for my pre-reqs. @rkstjohn

update:

There are about 50 alternates for Fall.

They will be letting us know shortly what our rank is.

So I figured I would comment on how MAT274 was since I took it over the summer. I think that GCU needs a whole new system when it comes to that class. HOURS of homework. I actually liked it for the most part. My prof was extremely helpful. I ended up getting a 95% in the class. I would recommend to take it over the summer so you get it over with quicker. lol
