Whew! Took the GCU HESI exam today and did good! What a relief to have this part over with! Now I'm getting excited that nursing school could be a reality in the near future, hopefully fall 2016 (4 months away?) Started the pre req process just about 3 years ago now. Anyone else applying to GCU's fall cohort?? Since the application deadline is May 15th we should find out early to mid June if we were accepted
@williamstraci
You took MAT274?
There are papers and projects to do in math? goodness! Tell me everything about it! I start it next week!
Should I take it on ground instead? I am not terrible at math... I have gotten A's in all my college maths that I have taken. But for some reason, STATS scares me. I do not want it to be the one class that I don't get an A in. The only B I have in my GPA is from 7 years ago. lol
@mmph11 I start second session (MAT274) on June 27th.
@williamstraci- The Dq's don't bother me that much. It takes me longer to get concepts when it comes to math, so I feel like if I take it online, I will be able to sit there as long as I need without really rushing, unlike how I would have to be in class. ugh I am super nervous now though.
Does anyone know what is going to happen for us alternates? I emailed them letting them know that I wanted to remain on the list, but have not received an email back from them.
I want to know where I am number wise so I can start planning on what my next move might be. lol
I was talking to my advisor today about taking the stats class to try for an A but she informed me that I would have to agree for it to be removed from my transcripts (since it came from another college) which makes me ineligible for the nursing program / alternate list since it's a prerequisite- I would make sure that is not happening with you for when you sign up for the class this summer!
@williamstraci
I got a really good scholarship at GCU, and I want to the fast track program.
Also, the CEP is a long wait from what I hear. I am on their waiting list though.
@mmph11 from what my SSA said, because it states on my application that it is in progress.. and it will be finished prior to the start date of Fall, taking it during second session doesn't matter. We didn't need Stats for pre-reqs or co-reqs at my other college. They also look at your GPA. Taking Stats at GCU, along with nutrition and CWV-301 has allowed me to establish a GPA at GCU.

I took it in the fall. It's your typical class with DQ posts and discussion and lots of papers. I'm taking Nutrition online right now and it's actually harder because that professor grades harder. I would take it now and if you dont get in apply in spring or summer because there are less applicants. Plus, that will make you tier 2, right? I can't remember what you said earlier but i thought you were not on campus at GCU yet.
