Grand Canyon RN-BSN

Published

Is there any updated information? I have been in heavy contact with them and am looking at taking their RN-BSN program. I work with a GCU grad and she has nothing but positive things to say, but I want more opinions. ?

Any pro's and cons? Thankfully the only class I'm missing is stats and that is offered in the actual BSN program. I'm a bit nervous as my algebra skills are way old. If anyone took this class, do you have any advice?

Interesting thing happened (or didn't happen) today. It is the Friday before my next class and it is not open to view. In fact there is no instructor listed in my class schedule as well. Was hoping to make a decision to either take a break or continue with the scheduled class. Wondering if they changed this in their system and we will no longer be able to see the class before it starts.

A few times I recall the classroom not opening until Saturday. Was nice to see the classroom prior to the start...copy/paste the DQs into word (Perrla) same for the assignments and get all organized! I always had the intention of sitting down and just doing all the DQs in 1 day..never happened, lol

Well the class was open on Saturday morning. Decided that I will take a couple weeks break, the time will do me good. Handed in my final assignment in Spirituality and I am so glad to be done with this class. This is now the worst class for me.

Prism, I had to laugh that you know the exact day you submitted your last paper. I can't remember the exact day.

Just a fun fact, but this thread has been going strong for almost 3 years in October!

Anyone thinking of their MSN with GCU?

What would you do if you got your MSN? I am in my mid 50s (Yikes) and think I am too old and that I would not be able to justify having it. I do plan on working as long as I can since I went back to school later in life. Just looking for ideas as to what I could do if I got it!

I'm in week 3 of capstone, I concluded that this class should be a 6 or 7 week class. At the very least, the advisors need to do a better job preparing students for what they're going to face once in the class. Thanks to this forum, I was able to flip week 1 and 2, I took PrismRn's advice. I still don't see how I'm going to put this all together in the end and make it all fit. Thank You all for getting me through this program, I sincerely mean that. I couldn't envision this 18 months ago, then I found you all and I'm here and pushing through.

Nursing 429 question...

Hey, if anyone remembers (cause my teacher is probably not going to answer today and it is due tomorrow), the heritage asessment paper.... we are supposed to do the heritage assessment on 3 families then write a paper about applying the heritage assessment and the health culture of teh different families.

So we do the cultural assessment (a useless tool with no explanation on how to use it), find out about the health culture habits of most people of that culture, then interview the people we just gave the assessment to to see if they do those things too? Shouldn't there be some guidance about how to interview them? Am I missing something?

Apologies, I'm going to post this in both forums to see if I can get a response today.

I'm not too far from you in age. I could see myself teaching or working for the state in policy. I would like to be on the BON.
