Grades, Gre Scores, Experience, etc...

Nursing Students SRNA

Published

I have looked up information regarding statistics for those who have been accepted into anesthesia school and haven't found information regarding the average of grades, GRE scores, years of experiences, certifications, etc. Remember when you were applying for you undergrad, you could find out information about the incoming class and their average gpa, SAT scores, etc. To those of you who are CRNA's and SRNA's or soon to be SRNA's if you don't mind can you post what your gpa, GRE scores, years of experience, and other information so I can get an ideal of what to do to become a CRNA. Thank you for all that reply!!

GPA - BS in Nutrition - 3.12

I think it's really important to project a confident image during your interview ((even if you are experincing serious 'flop sweat' :imbar )).

Good luck and have a happy and safe new year!!

Interesting thread! You guys are amazingly impressive with your great GPAs. Won't be any grad school in my future I imagine! :chuckle

Just for curiosity's sake, seems like I remember reading a thread here months (maybe years) ago where someone actually ended up with an acceptance right after graduation (no experience)? Or did I just imagine that? (thinking it was pretty odd!)

Manna,

That is a very, very rare case. The only one I'm aware of is Hamot School of Anesthesia that may accept one Gannon U. grad w/o the experience, if he/she demonstrates exceptional skills.

Hamot works with Gannon in their anesthesia curriculum.

Thanks for the answer.

I know absolutely nothing about NA school other than what I've read browsing allnurses, but it seems like - just based on the general idea I get from the posts here - going in without any experience would place the student at a disadvantage anyway.

Good luck to all the SRNAs and future SRNAs out there, anyway. Now, back to lurker-dom. :)

I wonder if it is possible to get into a CRNA program with a sub 3.0 nursing GPA. I was pre med while earning my BA in psych, and have a 3.5 or so science GPA (that stupid D I got in biochem because I had given up as a student hurt that GPA), and 3.something overall GPA, but unfortunately I did get a C in nursing in this intensive summer class where we went through integument, musculo-skel, GI, and GU. {{{I knew I should have pursued that one test question they marked incorrect in which I showed them that the answer I put down was the one one in the book, because I was that borderline B or C.}}} I plan on taking the GRE in a couple months and given my past issues with TIMED tests (ACT, MCAT, and everything in between) it could be a moot concern. What's past is past, though.
