I suspect (and this is based on nothing but experience with people) that is has more to do with the students' "staying power" or drop-out rate than it does with the difficulty of the program. Online and distance learning take a lot of dedication and commitment, and it's easy to let things slide when you don't physically go to a classroom.
Don't be nervous! In general, I heard that nursing programs have a very high drop out rate, so I am sure that number is based on what students actually go all the way through the program. Every nursing school that I toured(and I visited quite a few) said that drop outs are frequent either due to financial strain, people can't hack the curriclum load or a combination of both. It takes alot of determination and self motivation to stick it out to the end but you can do it!
I am going to tell you what a WGU manager of admissions told me today... When I was not accepted for admission even though I have my RN she stated that their policy had changed and that my resume indicated that I didn't have experience as an RN therefore I could not earn my BSN from this institution. When I asked her why this mattered she said"We have noticed that students who do not have RN experience are not able to get through the classes because they have no applied skills from which to work with.

I'm supposed to be starting WGU 10/1. In some of their paperwork they sent me it showed they have a graduation rate of 22%. Now I'm nervous!
