  1. I was an LPN and transitioned to RN at the VA in 2010. This was taken from official VA Handbook VA HANDBOOK 5005/27 MARCH 17, 2009 PART II APPENDIX G6 (you can look this up on the internet) LPN experience may be counted towards successful nursing practice for an RN at the rate of ½ credit as compared to full credit for RN experience. The amount of time that may be credited toward RN experience may not exceed 5 years. For example, LPN experience would be counted as one full-time workweek of credit for each 2 weeks of such service. (A performance evaluation or reference covering the candidate's most recent employment as an LPN is essential.) Also when they do Board you and if you are not happy with the results you can send it back. I did and I got another step
  2. I took the exam in August 2014 and that is the book I used. That is the newest edition. I also had the 2nd edition which did not look much different than the 3rd edition. Test follows material in the books closely although I did not do much studying. I just reviewed some chapters the day before I took the test. Test question look a lot like questions in the Ambulatory Care Nursing Review Question 2013, 4th Edition. [h=1][/h]
  3. I just sent my application in today. I was wondering how long is the program and do you have to find your own preceptors ?
  4. Governors State University in Illinois will accept a BSN with Pass of Fail grades for there NP program.
  5. The year that you worked as agency will not count towards the year that is needed before applying for VANEEP because you were not a federal employee. I hope this helps.
  6. In Fiscal year 2010 the maximum amount was 37,494.80 I am in VISN 12 and starting in FY 2011 they would no longer pay for an ADN program , they would only pay for BSN. Also keep your GPA up because that is also a determining factor for selection fin the VANEEP.
  7. The graduation rate initially scared me to until I realized that it was for all programs at WGU and not just Nursing.
  8. I was very intimidated about taking Statistics but this course was fairly easy. I took this class in June. I think there was about eight different sections to complete in My Math Lab which I did in two days then took the exam and passed. I completed this course in a week.
  9. Just an FYI. Go to My Degree Plan and click on any of your courses that are required to complete your degree. It will then bring you to Course of Study which will show the syllabus and Task requirements needed to complete that course. You may not have access to Task Stream to submit your work but you are able to see all course requirements at all times. To have full access to all courses will require that you complete them all in that current term. I started on April 1st and so far I have no complaints.
  10. I am not sure if they still applies but in 2002 Linden Grove Nursing Home in Waukesha gave me a two week free class to become a CNA. They also paid for me to take the State exam which was also held at their facility. I only had to commit to three months of service. It was a nice facility to work at.The CNA to patients ratios were pretty low compared to other nursing homes where I did my nursing clinicals.
  11. PVT worked for me too! Took test on Saturday and found out that I passed with 75 questions today!!!!
  12. I am from VISN 12 Edward Hines VA and my application was submitted 7-1-09. I received acceptance into the program on 8-3-09. I hope this helps
