GPC Spring 2016 Graduates

Here is a place that we could start discussing the next part of our journey in nursing school.

Has anyone read the book they suggested in our acceptance letters? I bought it off amazon and I am excited to read it!!!

I don't know if any of you are considering taking LINK for Nursing over the summer. I was, but I just heard back from Ms. Creel. She suggested that I only take micro and dosage calculations. I don't know if her recommendation will change if you have different courses that you are taking this summer, but I wanted to put this out there in case it helps any of you.

Is the dosage calculations class required or just recommended? Does anyone know if it would still be beneficial to take it during the first semester instead of before starting? I hate to pay all their tacked on fees to take 1 class!

It's recommended. Was wondering if anyone has taken it and can chime in bc I'll take it if it's worthwhile this summer. I agree about the tacked on fees.

I took the course last semester. Mrs. Buchholz is a great professor that make conversions very easy. For every type of conversion, she has a video that shows you how to do it. All of the quizzes are practice work, the only thing that is graded is the midterm and the final. The class is extremely helpful and I would definitely recommend it.

Bridge36, the unit I work for at in kennesaw, Wellstar is always looking for CNAs. I could recommend you to my boss if you are interested.

That would be awesome! I'm living in Macon now and if I do decide to move back to Macon, it will be in August when nursing school start. Is Wellstar a home health care? I would love for you to recommend me!

I'm going to summer school also. I'm taking A&P on campus and I'll probably take World Literature online. I'm really not looking forward to that but I have to either take Anatomy II over the summer or during my first semester in the nursing program! Smh! I would have taken it this semester but my work schedule was awful and I didn't want to take it online. Instead, I took 4 online core classes that I'll need for my BSN. I probably won't take Microbiology until next summer.

Just wanted to congratulate everyone again. I found out I've been accepted to GTC so I'll be turning in my decline for GPC soon. Not sure if this gives another applicant a shot, but I hope it does.

Good for you for knocking out bsn prereqs as u go! Super smart. I may take Chem II next summer so that when I graduate I can continue 100% online for the BSN.
