Nurse2b7337 where do you live? The main campus of NGCSU is Dahlonega but the nursing program is offered at their Oakwood campus and their Cumming campus. Not sure if either of those would work! But I think the deadline to apply was December 15 so you may have missed it for this year:) Where all are you applying for this year?

Thanks for sharing your route milesamelia. So are the upper level bachelor classes basically the pre-req classes?I am applying to any school that takes me.lol.I am looking into GSU,west ga,and maybe CSU. Still weighing my options.

jonesel9 the BSN has more core classes that you have to take...for example, you have to take 2 science classes outside of the "nursing" science classes, an extra english class, a foreign language, etc. I think the additional nursing classes focus more on theory/management rather than a clinical aspect which is why you can take them online. If you look at georgia state university's website at their accelerated BSN program you can see all non-nursing classes you have to take to get the BSN...it will be pretty consistent with any GA school. I'm looking into CSU if I don't get in this year but its kind of far for me...I have a friend whose mom is a teacher there and she said a lot of their work is online so I'm going to look into that again. Good luck!!!

Milesamelia thx for the feedback I'm in Sandy Springs the closest place would be Cumming. If the deadline has passed I guess I'm too late. :(

@mileamelia thank you now I understand. CSU is far for me too but whoever takes me I will attend. Good luck to you too and let us know how everything goes.

Has anyone been rejected/not accepted then applied again? Last year all my transcripts didn't come in so I was told to reapply this year (month). What they said at the information session was to update your information in writing? Do they mean via the application online? Has anyone had to do this? I would LOVE some advice. Thanks, Sharon

mg100,

I have been reading up on those who applied last year and this year to GPC. I see (read) that you applied twice? I didn't get accepted last year because they didn't receive one of my transcripts in time. At the nursing information session they said to update our information in writing? I have left a message with the deparment, but wanted to know, what did you do to apply again? Did you just fill out the online form? Or, did you have to write a letter. I am starting to panic (I am sure you remember this...ha ha) since the deadline is approaching. They now have all my transcripts and I completed my final courses at GPC last Spring. I have also taked the TEAS (but do not see on my GPC student site if they have received it). I would really appreciate your advice/help/assistance or anyone else who has been in this position. Thanks! Sharon

@stationhome,I can't put names on here but I have emailed with the "admissions specialist nursing" and she responds very quickly and is so helpful! If u go to directories on the gpc website and click on n under departments it will pull up all the nursing faculty. Just look for that title:) Good luck!

Milesamelia thx for the heads up!! :)

Does anyone know if its true, that they're only accepting 120students for the Fall?? I asked my friend who is currently in the program she's unsure. I also asked advising and they said it was true. I think last sem they accepted either 140 or 160. I wonder why they would decrease the amount of spots.

Specializes in Psychiatry.

They may have had to let go an instructor with all of GPC's budget issues. I would think less teachers/clinical instructors would be the only reason to decrease class size, but who knows.
