Navy NCP FY2015 Applicants

Hello all! I have been avidly following previous topics about the NCP program and I wanted to start one for those of us who have recently submitted a kit for the NCP program for FY2015. I'm in the Chicago area and my kit is currently being combed over by a processor then will be shipped out for the boards- which aren't convening until Novemeber (according to my recruiter), since they wanted to have more applicants. Hopefully this will be an area to calm nerves and answer questions. Good luck to all who apply, or are thinking of applying!

I considered enlisting prior to beginning nursing school. I don't think I would enlist after graduating, though. Like you, I'm wholly committed to being a Navy nurse. If I enlisted, it's possible that I wouldn't even be a corpsman. I'm praying I get into the Nurse Candidate Program! I don't want to consider the alternative! Hopefully the wait is over soon for all of us!

kaylab13 I wish you the BEST! I am praying hardcore and hope that someday we will meet each other in the future :) I don't know my alternative is either ;/

traumaRNHopeful- I feel the same way girl! I feels right and it's a calling. I hope we can all just fast forward and sign together.

Has anyone else who has submitted their kit been contacted by their recruiter or processor to make changes, add documents, ect? My processor went over my kit (and he still is even during the shutdown- which means he's working on his own time right now. He also told me to contact him once a week if I don't hear from him first until we get an answer on my whether I'm in or not) and he sent it off to the boards. They reviewed it and sent it back wanting a statement of my fulltime status from this semester in school. Anyone else experiencing this kind of stuff? I know the boards are SUPER picky about, well, everything, and my processor and recruiter have been so great with being on top of everything, but its nerve wracking thinking I could be disqualified for a technicality...

TraumaRNHopeful- I am still getting my kit finalized. Will probably submit 1st week of November. Yes, this is normal. Each office visit I make I still have things to sign, papers to collect, and corrections to make. My recruiters are great at checking over and over because the boards are SOOO picky. My recruiters tell me how everything has to be absolutely perfect or else they get docked and our application is jeopardized. It feels never ending...

TraumaRNHopeful- I just saw my processor today and he was extremely frustrated because the nursing corps are now asking for stuff that was never asked before and completely unexpected. So yes, it is normal that your kit might needs refinement and/or additions

Freckles&Glasses- I had a similarly frustrating conversation with my processor. At first I thought they were going to be super picky just to see how much the applicant wanted it....you know, if they weren't that serious they wouldn't make it a priority to respond with the appropriate changes. But these last minute changes are solely dependent on the processor and recruiter (moreso the processor though). If you have a crumby processor then they aren't going to try to get your kit perfected the way the board wants it. I'm really thankful my processor and recruiter are so invested....but that makes me go back to square one in wondering why the board is so picky. They don't need to test the will power of the processor to make a decision on the applicant...

TraumaRNHopeful -Exactly, couldn't agree with you more!! I am very fortunate too that I have an awesome processor and recruiter....they stress perfection perfection perfection in their kits. It is silly, because they are putting great pressure on processor/recruiter, not the applicant. If course we r pressured, but from what I've observed, the boards are implementing unnecessary demands. Hope this doesn't hurt us :/

I submitted my kit back in August, and it did get kicked back then. So, it definitely isn't unusual! My kit is at the boards now. Praying my kit doesn't get kicked back again and that the boards like what they see! I spoke to my recruiter, and the boards are still waiting on more applications. That's why they haven't convened. If your kit needs revisions, you still have time!

My kit got kicked back for what I think is a petty technicality- I wasn't a fulltime student for this semester until Oct 7 even though I'm not in nursing school yet and these are my last pre reqs. When I got the message from my processor to write a letter requesting reconsideration to the board my heart DROPPED. Apparently its normal though. For whatever reason a kit gets kicked back and then has to be resubmitted, the applicant has to write a letter requesting reconsideration. Still....it made me nervous, lol

phew! When something goes wrong it's like, noooooo! But at least you can resubmit with letter. Such picky details!! lol

Anyone hear from their recruiter or processor how many NCP spots they have for this FY?
