Hello, All! My packet for 66P AD packet is almost complete and will be submitted for the October Board, fingers crossed. Anyone else waiting for this board? How has your whole process been? Anyone who has previously undergone this experience is more than welcome to give input! Thanks!

How many vacancies are there? I don't know when I'll go to board at this point.

I asked my recruiter, but I have yet to be given an actual number. I'll let you know when I find out!

InquisitiveAPN,

I just found out there will be 10 slots for this fiscal year. Let me know if you decide to put your packet together. It's a length, paperwork driven process. Good luck whatever you choose to do!

I'm actually in limbo waiting to see what happens. I applied for a different AOC (66R) and was wondering how many slots there were for FNPs versus my field. There's one!

Inquisitive APN,

Sounds like you may be better off applying for 66P. What is 66R? ACNP?

That's a no go. I'm not boarded for family practice.

Ah, I see. I would think they would need 66R though?

Everyone I speak to says that.

I also applied for the Army October 30th Board for 66H (MedSurg RN) and heard I was a go last Thursday. Rumor mill has it that the packets are apparently reviewed and approved individually versus all results published at once via memo, etc. I am a 66H but very interested in the NP pathways. I started my graduate school prereqs when I did my BSN.

They told me it will be about two weeks until an appointment memo is generated for commissioning, but I have also heard 30-60 days from another recruiter.

We shall see. If I hear anything further I will certainly update this post. Best of luck!

Long process but overall pretty easy and no issues. Started the process in May, went to MEPS in August, then packet when to boards in October. Just a lot of waiting! My packet went to the 30 October board as well but I went for reserves. I found out on 9 Nov that I was selected. Like RN.Mima, for 66H. I am currently in grad school pursuing my MSN-FNP. I am also waiting for scroll in order to commission just like she said. My recruiter didn't really give me a timeline for this but base on what I've read on this site, it sometimes takes quite a while.

hey Mich ,ask your recruiter about school programs / scholarships. There are a few out there and the ADSO (time commitment) i think is two years runs concurrent to time in service. I am not sure if that applies to reserve but worth asking. I am former active duty (Transportation / Logistics Officer) if you need any help with jargon , forms etc... send me a line. Congrats to you too!

Do you guys go to Fort Sam for your initial training?
