Hi All, My packet went to boards but I have not heard back yet(live in St. Louis,MO). I am a NP but am going as 66H(med surg) as CPT. I am wondering if anyone else boarded this date? If so have you heard anything yet?

For anyone else in previous boards I would like to know how you found out? If you you were selected or not? If not selected do they tell you why and do you have any options at that point? Does the recruiter call you, do you get something by mail or e-mail?

Any other useful information I would truly appreciate.

Thanks in advance!

I was trying to get my packet in by June 2, but I was still waiting on recommendation letters and missed it! From what I understand, June 2 was the deadline and then the board actually meets towards the end of the month and that's when the decision is made and you notified. Your recruiter should have all the info and let you know when you should be hearing something. That's about all I know.... best of luck to ya!

Thank you. My recruiter told me it usually takes about 1 week, so now I am confused! Hopefully someone who has borded recently will reply as well. I don't want to be anxiously waiting only to find out it will take a few more weeks. I have never been more stressed, not even for my RN or NP cretification exams!

NP,

I would contact your recruiter and ask if 2 June was the document deadline or if it in fact was the boarding date. There is a deadline set approx 2 weeks before boards. You should have known within a few days if you had made it through boards, it is up to your recruiter to contact you and let you know.

I received a phone call from my recruiter two days after the board date, from there we set up a time for completeing the endless trail of documents and for commissioning.

Good luck!

So, I am now concerned, my recruiter has been slow with things in the past. I didnt know I was going to FSH/BME for Tour and Physical until less than 1 week before I was to fly to Texas!

I wonder what this means, the boards were definitley 2 June, I had to have everything in a couple of weeks prior to that. So now it has been 8 days!

Hey, how was the tour and physical in Texas? And they told you a week before you were due to fly out? Also, are you in the hotel room by yourself and I'm guessing you don't pick your flight time?

The Physical and Tour at FSH/BAMC was GREAT!! It only confirmed my desire to serve and grow my nursing career with the US Army even more. The group I was with, was a mix of Dental students, 1 Veterinarian, 1 Surgeon, 1 psychologist, and a Dietician. We had a really good time.

The Hotel was great- Embasy Suites. The flight times were picked but when I was finished early on the last day and anxious to get home they changed the flight for me.

I have nothing but positive things to say, The experience and emotions that you get when touring the "Center for the Intrepid" is awesome.

This is what makes my wait even more stressful. I have never wanted anything so bad that I wasn't able to control.

That's sounds great! I think the tour will seal the deal for me as well being that I never been on a military base or a military hospital. I'm so excited and hopefully will get to go in July. Where do you want to be stationed?

Only your recruiter can help you with this question (of being boarded or not).

Call him/her and ask for the date you were supposed to added to the "scroll". Did your packet have any "correction" that needed to take place before you were boarded this month? Any pending waivers?

There are set times each month for boards, but they can change due to weather, etc.

I was boarded in Feb., and Fort Knox had a terrible ice storm which shut down the computers and delayed boards for 2 weeks.

My packet had to have several waivers (which were already approved) and no corrections but I was missing my "conditional release from the Army Reserves".

Long story short, My application made it on the scroll and was boarded, but the final paperwork was held up until I had my conditional release, which took another 5 weeks. But I kept pushing for answers and finally I tracked down my missing paperwork. If I had not, I might not be in Active duty, because they stopped giving "Age waivers" a few months ago......

Moral of the story,

Keep making those phone calls until you get answer.

good luck,

c.

Good Luck and enjoy your time in Texas. The physical was nice and relaxed. But for some reason the three nurses(inluding me) had elevated BPs. I was so anxious my BP was like 144/96. After talking and joking my repeat BP was down to 130/80- still high for me but within their standards. I say just relax, they want you to be qualified.

As for my station choices, I gave 3 but I only want one. 1st- Fort jackson, SC, 2nd- Fort Stewart, GA(my best friend and her husband are stationed there) 3rd- Fort Sam Houston(career wise, seems to be an excellent choice)

All this comes after 5 months of intense research. I am so nervous since I havent heard back yet, is it no news is good news or something else...

Congratulations!

Why did you come in as a Med Surg nurse, when you could have come in as an NP?
