I'm at the gym at my college running on the treadmill and then I hear a loud bang. I turn around and a guy had a heavy weight slam down on his hand. I literally leap off the running treadmill, and come to his aide. Someone gave him a towel and I advised him to hold pressure and get to the ER. Part of his finger came off and I told the staff to put it in ice, label the container, and get it to the hospital. I also advised the staff to close the gym until the area where it happened has been cleaned and santized for the saftey of others. Everything happened soooo fast.
Wow ! love being a nurse !

Good Job!
The gym didn't call an ambulance? He shouldn't be driving with a finger missing.
No the staff didn't call. It all happened so fast. By time the staff got to the gym the boy had already been on his way. His friend was with him and drove. To be honest he would have gotten there quicker by car than ambulance. The hospital was literally 2 minutes away from the gym.
