Okay, so the meeting went a little something like this. Basically, It's against our districts policy to take certain prescription drugs (even with a prescription of course), and if I'm at a clinical one day and that clinical site decides to drug test me for some reason and the test comes back positive, I will be terminated from the program. This was all verbal and I wasn't provided with the official district handbook

Thanks for the comments everyone. Basically, I went in on monday, they made a copy of my prescription for my "file," and then set me up an appointment next week to speak with the head of the program. Apparently, it's to go over professionalism and taking prescribed drugs. I'll let you know how it goes...:eek::eek::eek:

I used a voice recorder, and would make flash cards while following along with the lecture notes. Put the time in and you will do just fine. Straight memorization just like A&P.

Hello all, I was recently prescribed Xanax for anxiety and my ADN's policy is to report all new Rx's to the heads of the program. I notified them last week, which was the same week I was prescribed, and they set up a meeting for me to come in on the 28th. If anyone else has been through a similar experience, could you please share your story. I'm a little nervous because they placed so much emphasis on notifying them during the orientation process, and I would like to know what to expect. Any advice is welcomed.

500mg erythromycin; no dose w/ robitussin ac;325mg acetylsalicylic acid; 20mg furosemide

AHHH soo many new abbreviations to learn. I swear I have a new list to learn and s/p stands for that one. haha. Open heart surgery sounds really good, but I forgot to mention that the pat is only a 21 year old female. The meds she's on are: Erythromycin, Robitussin AC, Aspirin, and furosemide... Wait a sec....... do you think the aspirin is to thin the blood for post-op heart surgery?

patient history: S/P OHS diagnosis: r/o pnuemonia Okay, so, I know S/P stands for "no change after," but what the heck does OHS mean? This is for a 1st semester med administration assignment...

Cool! Thanks for the info reeta, kay, and dudette. I found a website for my textbook that has practice NCLEX questions for each chapter, and it shows you why the answers are right or wrong. I'm feeling way more confident now. I'll let you know how my next exam goes...

Hi everyone, I just started my first semester and the critical thinking is killing my test scores. Does anyone have any advice? I'm consistant at narrowing the problem down to two possible answers, but then lose in the 50% game... I wish they would have gone over this more in the prereq's Please help!
