Gordon Nursing Program Spring 2011

Published

Hello everyone!

I am applying to Gordon College's nursing program for the spring. I was accepted to the program for the fall semester but had to decline because I did not think that I could finish my A&P2 and micro classes this summer. My gpa dropped a little since I was accepted and I was wondering if any previously accepted students could help me determine my chances for getting in for the spring. I am taking A&P2 and microbiology this fall to satisfy the rest of my core. My gpa is a 3.26 and I got an 83.5 on my TEAS. Do you think that those scores will be good enough? When I got in for fall I had a 3.36 gpa and the same score on my TEAS, so theyre not that much different. This is the only program that I am applying for so I'm just hoping that I get in. If anyone can help me figure out my chances, I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks :)

@an2on, thanks and when I can finish crying about it, I can get on to plan B. Whatever school/plan that is.

I was actually on the waitlist...does anyone know how long will some of us stay on the waitlist?

@an2on, what you mean waitlist? I thought you got the acceptance letter today? Mine didn't say anything about a waitlist. I still can't understand why I didn't get in.

My mom read the wrong letter. It was actually an acceptance letter from the college and not the nursing program. I received a letter from the nursing school stating that I was placed on a waiting list and if seats become available then they will sent me a letter. I guess if the students who decline their acceptance to the program or don't respond at all then they will start picking people from the waiting list. Now I have to wait a few more weeks

@an2on, well atleast you got that. I got a straight denial. Tomorrow, when my woes are calmed down, I'm going to make a list of other schools and their requirements. Gotta keep moving on!

@Emerald, you know what, I was denied by two schools and I was a nervous wreck; I was torn. I moved on to be wait listed by Gordon. Who knows if I will make it of the waiting list. I'm not sure if this is your first time applying or not and I don't know how many schools you applied to but its things like this that will make you stronger so you need to keep looking and keep your scores high. You will get into a program; keep applying. Don't let this one school stop you. Like you said "Keep moving". If Gordon doesn't accept you, another school will. Goodluck!

I received my acceptance letter yesterday. After the feeling of joy, I must admit that I'm a little nervous. I guess between the time fall semester ends and spring begins I'll be studying for the unknown. Don't forget to register for 1901 and 1921 asap. Also, when the info package comes via mail go ahead and get whatever shots are required. And make sure you turn in you RSVP form. See you guys in the Spring and remember, we can do this!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats ya'll!

@Emerald, don't be down there are plenty of other programs, and there is always next year. In the mean time concentrate on your current classes, and start working on the classes required for a bachelors!

I am so excited, I thought my parents had misread the letter, however they are correct. I am dropping my RSVP off in the morning when I go to class, and I cannot wait to start. This was a good year! I just have to finish Micro, and History then here comes nursing! See you all in the spring!

Hey all there is a forum from spring 2010 last year, I know it is a year old, but there is valuable information in there. I remember reading so many were wait listed, but got accepted all the way through December, I know they were calling people over winter break and telling them they got in... Check it out
