Gordon Nursing Program Spring 2011
svdomenech27.......don't listen to that 3.5 turn down crap. In the 2011 newbie class there were manyyyyyyyyyy individuals with GPA's in the two somethings. How do I know????? Well, amongst one another in conversation the what's your GPA came up often in the beginning of the first semester. Keep on striving and maintaining a high GPA to ensure that you stand out from the rest. That's what I did. You'll be fine!!!!!

Gordon Nursing Program Spring 2011
sowhat105............. WHEN THEY MAKE THEIR DECISION, IT'S BASED ON WHETHER U WILL HAVE THE CORE CLASSES COMPLETED BY THE TIME U ENTER THE PROGRAM. SO....IF SPRING IS YOU TARGET, I DON'T C WHY THEY WOULD NOT ACCEPT U. I'M POSITIVE THEY WILL. DON'T OVERLOAD YOURSELF THIS SUMMER BECAUSE U STILL HAVE THIS UPCOMING FALL TO COMPLETE THE REMAINING CLASSES. JUST BE SURE TO HAVE YOUR APPLICATION SUBMITTED BY THE DUE DATE FOR THE SPRING '12 DEADLINE. FYI...A MAJORITY OF THE TEST QUESTIONS ARE CRITICAL THINKING. YES....IT'S IMPORTANT TO KNOW THE INFORMATION; HOWEVER, YOU MUST BE ABLE TO APPLY THAT INFO. PER SITUATION. KNOW SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF EVERYTHING IMAGINABLE. AGAIN, DON'T FREAK OUT BECAUSE U STILL HAVE THE REMAINING YEAR TO COMPLETE YOUR CLASSES. WHEN MAKING THEIR SELECTION THEY WILL BE ABLE TO SEE THE CLASSES YOU'VE COMPLETED THIS SUMMER & CLASSES THAT YOU ARE ENROLLED IN FOR THE FALL. BESIDES, WHEN I WAS ACCEPTED, I WAS IN THE PROCESS OF COMPLETING THE REMAINING CLASSES. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

I received my acceptance letter yesterday. After the feeling of joy, I must admit that I'm a little nervous. I guess between the time fall semester ends and spring begins I'll be studying for the unknown. Don't forget to register for 1901 and 1921 asap. Also, when the info package comes via mail go ahead and get whatever shots are required. And make sure you turn in you RSVP form. See you guys in the Spring and remember, we can do this!!!!!!!!!!

Gordon Nursing Program Spring 2011
an2on, thanks for the reply.what I may likely do is take the teas test again and try to score higher on it. I wonder can you request scores to be sent off to various schools then apply??? Do u know? Or maybe call ATI after the 1st intitial $60.00 (@ Ga. Baptist), which I believe that includes on the test and one school of choice. As far as Gordon I only Eng 2 to take, which I'm taking now, other classes req'd for BSN I've already taken, or is in the process of taking. Either way I will have to take 3 classes req'd for BSN before applying because is the Spring 2011 admission---something I wanted to avoid and just dive into the program. As long as I have RN followed by my name I hope to get in somewhere!

Gordon Nursing Program Spring 2011
I applied for Spring 2011- but here is the question of the day. If I transfer out of Gordon to Clayton State, Emory, Ga. State......I would have to take about 3 classes before attempting that school's nursing program. However, I would have to retake the teas because Gordon version is 4, and those above requires version 5. What if retaking the teas I don't score as high as I did on the teas 4. I've been told to compete w/other applicants it was best to score in the 80's. My gpa is 3.85-science gpa 4.0-teas 4 70.6. So I plan on taking the teas 5 @ Ga. Baptist next month just to see how well I do. If not I hope Gordon accepts me. I know they have a BSN program and I am taking a few class fall 2010 towards that degree. Of coorifice, you must complete nursing school with the ASN before applying the school's BSN program and obtain state licensure. During the summer in Chem 2 a woman was doing that and she only had to attend Gordon once a week for the BSN program. She stated once she finished those required classes it was just a change in ASN-BSN and there is no further state board exam/retake of NCLEX. My situation is I don't want to jeopardize Gordon if I should get in and wait on schools that I may not get in. Sure I may be able to transfer elsewhere, but I would need 3 classes for all other schools. I can't take those classes if Gordon starts in the Spring. So I may be stuck with Gordon, if so I'll be happy to get in someone. Any thoughts and similiar issues with anyone that can some light?????????????

I don't know the deadline for fall 2011 admission. Being you've taken the teas ask them how soon you can take it again at Gordon. When I took it in July 2010--I had asked if I could retake it later that same month, they said no and I could take it elsewhere and have the scored submitted to them. Keep in mind if you retake the teas you would have to submit your package around the time you took the teas again. Call Smith Hall and/or you nursing advisor,or just stop by Smith and ask:nurse:.

I personally know someone that had a 2.8 gpa and mid 70's teas score got into the program, but that was back in 2009. I was concern with the teas and not the gpa because mine is a 3.85, but when I scheduled for the teas July 2010 testing a lady had commented on my grades and stated teas scores of 70's are good even though students think othewise. This came from the lady in Smith hall---1st office located on the right hand side coming in from the front of Smith bldg. After taking the teas I scored a darn 70.6, so I worried about admission too. Good luck and don't give up/in!!!!!!!!!!!:)

Gordon College Spring 2011
I also applied for Spring 2011. Received the same card via mail and is anxious. I wonder if the 8 weeks started from the time the cards were mailed out. The only remaining class that I have to take is Eng 2 (taking it this fall) along with other classes for Gordon BSN completion degree. Does anyone know if Gordon calculates grades/credits that are about 12 1/2 years old, or do they focus on classes required for admission into the program. I hope not, because back in the day I did nothing but party!!!!!!!!! However, only 3 classes back then. So far, I have a 3.85 gpa, 4.0 science gpc, but I only scored 70.6 on the teas which I took this pass July. I wonder what my chances are to get in this Spring?????????

Gordon College-Fall 2009
phrozenone............almost forgot, do u know the cost of nursing school @ Gordon????????
-
Gordon College-Fall 2009
phrozenone. that's excellent, my main concern with the teas is the reading comprehension portion. i took the net and totally bombed on that section. reading boring passages and totally misinterpreting the reading is my problem. how did you study or what did u study? when i transfer to Gordon in the spring my remaining classes are Eng 2, an elective, and psychology. did you take those @ gpc, or gordon, and if so, what prof's @ Gordon (that are good). Please respond and let's keep in touch!

Gordon College-Fall 2009
Phrozenone i am not a student @ gordon. I plan on transferring to gordon from gpc during the spring semester. I'd rather attend gordon's nursing program than gpc's. Extremely nervous about the teas, which i'll be taking once admitted into gordon. Not so much concern with studying the material, just the time restraint....that's what gets me.
