Gordon Nursing Program Spring 2011

Published

Hello everyone!

I am applying to Gordon College's nursing program for the spring. I was accepted to the program for the fall semester but had to decline because I did not think that I could finish my A&P2 and micro classes this summer. My gpa dropped a little since I was accepted and I was wondering if any previously accepted students could help me determine my chances for getting in for the spring. I am taking A&P2 and microbiology this fall to satisfy the rest of my core. My gpa is a 3.26 and I got an 83.5 on my TEAS. Do you think that those scores will be good enough? When I got in for fall I had a 3.36 gpa and the same score on my TEAS, so theyre not that much different. This is the only program that I am applying for so I'm just hoping that I get in. If anyone can help me figure out my chances, I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks :)

I have been checking this thread since the month of September started lol... I am starting to get so anxious, I hope everybody gets to hear something soon and it be good news at that :) Good Luck to everyone

I was actually in the program last Spring and unfortunately I did not pass 1901. I missed it by 1 point. Good thing for me is that I am able to come back in Spring 2011. So, everyone, I know it's nerve wrecking right now but you don't have long to go. STAY POSITIVE!!!!:):)

I heard that they only choose or accept between 5-10 transfer students... That is what is worrying me :S don't know how true that is though. I would have gladly taken classes there but I've been done with all of my prereq's for an associates and bachelor's, I have no more classes to take lol... #1 Mommy do u know what specifically they are looking for? Good Luck this time around you will ace it all :)

I heard that about transfer students as well. They prefer their students. The good thing about what u heard is that they accecpt between 10-15. I heard a number much lower...

They do typically prefer their own students but we did have transfer students in our class. We also had at least 2 that were on the waiting list initially and then accepted. What I would advise to anyone that does get accepted is to recognize your weaknesses early. For instance, if you're having test anxiety, go speak with your advisor from the nursing program and seek help. Don't wait too late. They truley want you to pass. They give you everything you need, and then some, to see that you do but you must be proactive. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

Hello everyone,

Just wanted yall to know that a friend of mine that's also applying for Spring called the nursing office and was told that letters won't be mailed for a couple of weeks (whatever that means). So, it might be a little while longer but KEEP THE FAITH!!!!!

I was told they will be mailed October 1st.

October 1st that is still so far away.... My nerves will be shot by the time I receive that letter lol

I have been checking every day... I guess waiting a little longer wont hurt.
