Gordon Nursing Program Spring 2011

U.S.A. Georgia

Published

Hello everyone!

I am applying to Gordon College's nursing program for the spring. I was accepted to the program for the fall semester but had to decline because I did not think that I could finish my A&P2 and micro classes this summer. My gpa dropped a little since I was accepted and I was wondering if any previously accepted students could help me determine my chances for getting in for the spring. I am taking A&P2 and microbiology this fall to satisfy the rest of my core. My gpa is a 3.26 and I got an 83.5 on my TEAS. Do you think that those scores will be good enough? When I got in for fall I had a 3.36 gpa and the same score on my TEAS, so theyre not that much different. This is the only program that I am applying for so I'm just hoping that I get in. If anyone can help me figure out my chances, I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks :)

I havent heard either. I was hoping this week. Its driving me crazy. I went to the nursing seminar the other day and they really freaked me out. I didnt know this but Spring semester is when the lpns apply for admission and it has got me really scared that I may not get in because there are fewer spots. I'm not sure if any of you guys knew that. I'm also hoping that since we havent heard yet then maybe its a good thing!

Ah, don't let that discourage you...we'll all be happy when we get our letters some time in the next week or so...

I called a little while ago, and FINALLY got someone on the phone. The lady said in quote, " I do not know, the committee is not done with the applications so mid-late October is the best I can give you..."

Wow! U got to be kidding me. I was told october first! Well...I'm no longer gonna kill myself over the wait.

Wow! They really be draggiing their feet.

Oh my this is really killing me now because a lot of what happens next year depends on this decision :(

Here's the deal with the letters. I just called this morning to see if I can pry more information. The lady that I talked to just a few minutes ago said that the panel had been busy reviewing the applications for the bridge program. She said that they just started reviewing the applications for the associates program and that last year the same thing happened; students received letters by Halloween time. She said hopefully it will be sooner. Thats all I know.

Do anyone know how many spots they usually fill? And how many applications they usually receive? I know GPC received 400 for the Spring semester and only took like 75.

I am not sure, but I wanna say somewhere around 100

Hopefully they don't have 400 ppl applying for 100 spots. Guess we will see how it goes shortly. I just pray for everybody's acceptance. :)
