Gordon Nursing Program Spring 2011

U.S.A. Georgia

Published

Hello everyone!

I am applying to Gordon College's nursing program for the spring. I was accepted to the program for the fall semester but had to decline because I did not think that I could finish my A&P2 and micro classes this summer. My gpa dropped a little since I was accepted and I was wondering if any previously accepted students could help me determine my chances for getting in for the spring. I am taking A&P2 and microbiology this fall to satisfy the rest of my core. My gpa is a 3.26 and I got an 83.5 on my TEAS. Do you think that those scores will be good enough? When I got in for fall I had a 3.36 gpa and the same score on my TEAS, so theyre not that much different. This is the only program that I am applying for so I'm just hoping that I get in. If anyone can help me figure out my chances, I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks :)

You couldn't take those 3 classes in the fall at Gordon? I assume that they probably don't offer those 3 courses and Gordon. Well, I applied to Gordon nursing program for spring and I never attended the school. I applied and got accepted to Gordon (not the nursing program, just the school) for fall but I actually want to keep taking classes towards a BSN since i'm finished with ASN pre reqs in which I completed at GPC. I will be at Clayton state for this 2010 ( I start on this coming Tuesday) to take these last 4 courses for their spring 2011 program. One of those 4 courses that I will be taking is patho which is not offered at a 2 year school. Basically, you can still transfer to another school and if Gordon accepts you just reapply to the school as a readmit. I hope I answered your question...

What classes are needing at the other institutions? BTW, the TEAS at Gordon is version V, not IV. Gordon has almost all of the mandatory bachelors classes, however in regards to the nursing classes you do have be enrolled in their BSN program, and requires the ASN. Gordon is a small school, but at we also are no longer considered a 2 year state school, we are a fully functioning state college with bachelors degrees and additional more coming this year. Any of the Chemistry, physics, organic chem classes GA state requires for pre regs, I know for a fact Gordon Offers them.

an2on, thanks for the reply.what I may likely do is take the teas test again and try to score higher on it. I wonder can you request scores to be sent off to various schools then apply??? Do u know? Or maybe call ATI after the 1st intitial $60.00 (@ Ga. Baptist), which I believe that includes on the test and one school of choice. As far as Gordon I only Eng 2 to take, which I'm taking now, other classes req'd for BSN I've already taken, or is in the process of taking. Either way I will have to take 3 classes req'd for BSN before applying because is the Spring 2011 admission---something I wanted to avoid and just dive into the program. As long as I have RN followed by my name I hope to get in somewhere!

It varies...u will have to check the schools' websites.

Sowhat105- The version of the TEAS that we took in July was version 4. It was the last time that they were offering that version before switching to version 5. That sucked cause most schools only accept version 5 but to get the application into Gordon, version 4 had to be taken. Just clarifying.

I know it is still a wee bit to soon, however someone was claiming from my class the other day that they had received a rejection letter already?!? Can someone clarify, or are they just running their mouth?

I would think that they send out the letters all at the same time. So if they received a letter then we should have gotten a letter the same day or the next. Besides, I think it too early and I heard that rumors are horrible around this time. Not sure if its true but I doubt. Though I wish it is true!

Has anyone heard anything else about acceptance? I'm sure we are getting close to finding out something. Hopefully, we will all get in.

ok I applied for spring 2011 and am currently a student at Gordon. I called the other day and was informed that yes some letters had gone out already. The lady said if you had not gotten one it did not mean you were or were not accepted just that you were not in the first letter of declination letters that were sent out. She said be thankful. She also said last week when I called that we would definately know something within the next to weeks. GOOD LUCK TO EVERY ONE!

I would of sure liked to be in the first bunch of acceptance letters. Hopefully, we will all be accepted anyway. I know I been kind of scared to check the mail lately. Well, guess the wait will be over soon. Good luck everyone!

Can anyone verify what she is saying? I checked my mail today, and no letter. I live 5 miles from Gordon, so if I was getting a letter in the first batch of declination letters I should have received it by now...

So you're saying that they are sending rejection letters before they sent the acceptance letters? I want to verify that because you first letters of declination which mean letters stating that you didn't get into the program.
