Gordon nursing fall 2011

Has anyone heard any info about the applications for the fall semester?

Where on banner web does it show how many spots there are? I have tried to find it many times and never can!

Oh, and our deadline was jan. 31st...

Next to the times for the classes in banner it has capacity, actual, and remaining numbers for how many people the class can hold, how many are in the class, and how many spots remaining for the class. Of course, right now there are none since no one has been able to register yet so it just says 75. Last spring the deadline was February 28th so I figured it was the same this year. Hopefully you will hear something soon if its been that long. I know it gets hard to have to wait, but once you get that letter its one of the happiest yet most stressful days of your life because then you know whats coming the next two years haha

@cnhanley, I think that it is awesome that you are taking the time to check in on us hopefuls, thank you for your input. May I ask you exactly how many days a week does the program require? What is your schedule like, and any advice for those that do get accepted. Also, should I get accepted I am a little concerned about the fee's I have read about. I do get Hope and Pell but not sure its enough to cover. Do most people wind up with student loans?

Youre welcome! As for my schedule, at the beginning of the semester I was going Monday (8-2) Tuesday (off) Wednesday (8-2) Thursday (9-12) and Friday (whatever time my checkoff was)...so it was almost everyday of the week. Now since clinicals have started I go Monday (8-10:20) Wednesday (8-10:20, and to the hospital in the afternoons to pick up my clinical assignment) and Thursday (6:45-3). The first half of the semester all depends on what times you register for, but you'll pretty much end up being there 4 days a week until clinicals start. My advice to you is to start studying as soon as you can, dont wait until the last minute. Same thing about any assignments, even the weekly ones. Oh, and be sure to take some time for yourself. It gets stressful so you need some time to just chill and hang out with family and friends. As for the fees, there are a lot. My fees this semester were around $650 not even including the tuition. I have Hope and Pell so that covered it. I'm a little upset about Hope only giving 90% this fall semester and not paying any fees or books so thats definitely going to be a change. I know a lot of people on loans, and I've even considered them myself. I think I covered all of your questions haha sorry I had to write so much

Thanks again for the information! I have so many more questions I would love to ask, but I will hold off until we get the letters, no since in flooding my brain with more info if I don't get in this semester. If I dont get in then I will reapply for Spring. I actually feel as though it would have to be an act of God for me to get in for fall since I am just now in the process of transfering to Gordon. I won't mind having to take classes in the fall because I intend on getting my BSN anyway and I can take a few of those classes along with the two I need to take for the ADN program. For time sake I would love to get into the program for Fall but I have a strong enough faith to know that it will happen when it is best for me.:)

Well I would love to answer them. I like your mindset about getting in. I have almost all of my BSN classes finished so it's worth it to get them over with also.. Again, good luck! I hope you gear something soon : )

Specializes in International.

I do find the program can be a bit intense at times, but I have waited until the last minute to finish all of my assignments, study for tests, etc... If your a procrastinator you can do it, don't stress out about it. Find time to go out and drink go to movies and play xbox or whatever your life's vices are. I spend more time doing the things I like vs. School, and if you do that you won't get burned out. To many people reached burn out by spring break, and now they are paying for. People think it's a stupid philosophy, but i have an A in both classes, and I don't in half the effort others do. So that one way to nursing school, the other

Is study study study and get fed up with it...

The mail has ran, no letter!! Prayn for us all the waiting ends soon!

No letter today :(...

I did call and asked when the letters were going out and here's what she said " They are in the process of sending them out now." I don't know exactly what that means, but I hope it means we will know any day now :)

Chelseajo21, that makes me a little excited!! I just wnat to know either way. If I got in I need to take some classes this summer which means I need to line up child care and all that. So it would be good to know something soon. Thanks for sharing the info. I will be home all this week when the mail runs(spring cleaning) so I will post everyday(cuz I will be bored looking for an excuse to stop cleaning).
